"(Name)'s pretty cute, isn't she?" Levi froze in the middle of doing his paperwork to cast a glance to his subordinates as they chatted.
"I guess, not really my type though." His eyes narrowed and his grip on the pen tightened. What did he mean 'he guessed'? You were adorable, not to mention beautiful. It was part of the reason he fell for you. Gunther turned to face Levi, apparently unaware of the Captain's increasingly sour mood.
"What do you think Captain?" Levi's face maintained its indifferent look as he thought about how to respond to that. The two of you had been keeping your relationship somewhat of a secret. Levi wouldn't really mind telling the others, other than the annoying pestering that was sure to follow, but you seemed to have so much fun trying to hide it. Between fleeting, heartfelt glances and stolen kisses behind hidden doorways you would always light up with joy whenever he saw you. He had to admit that it was rather amusing to watch you try to hide your infatuation with him whenever others were around, you always being unable to stifle a girlish giggle whenever he looked your way around others. He found it refreshing to see such joy in his life when he was usually surrounded by pain and destruction. So now he wasn't sure how to respond. If he told the truth the game would be over and you might be disappointed, and even if he'd never admit it the idea of disappointing you in any way troubled him greatly. If he didn't say anything then Gunther was liable to ask you on a date, and there was no way he was losing you to his own subordinate. So Levi decided on the easy way out.
"Clearly I haven't given all of you enough work if you have time to sit around and gossip." The others immediately began to make themselves look busy and Levi went back to his paperwork, deciding that he would discuss the matter of revealing the relationship between the two of you with you later.

After the events that had transpired earlier in the day Levi decided it would be best to find you and talk to you as soon as he could. He knew you would be around back with Hanji studying the captured titans. Once there he felt his stomach become queasy at the sight of you so close to the huge beasts. You and Hanji were each standing close to one of the titans. He began marching over as he saw you step even closer to one of the beasts, pressing your hands against it's torso. Levi's stomach plummeted and he dashed forward as he saw the thing look down at you hungrily. He wrapped his arms around your waist and leaped backwards. Levi saw your eyes widen as the beast's jaws snapped shut in the place where you had been only moments ago. He glared down at you, anger marring his usual stoic expression.
"What do you think you were doing?" He felt you shrink at the harshness of his words, but didn't regret saying them. You bit your lip, eyes cast at your shoes once again.
"I wanted to see if it had a belly button." Levi had never felt the urge to face-palm as strongly as he did in that moment. Your eyes widened as his expression remained unchanged and you began to explain yourself frantically. "I-I mean that could be important information! If they have belly-buttons that means that they were born instead of-" Unfortunately you were cut off as your worried squad leader ripped you out of Levi's arms and into her own.
"Are you ok? Sawney got a little to close that time, huh? Hahaha." Hanji stopped laughing once she noticed the look in Levi's eyes. Then, the mad woman grinned, a crazy glint appearing in her eyes. Levi knew that look, whenever Hanji looked like that it meant either something really bad, or something really, REALLY weird was about to happen. He also knew that Hanji knew about the relationship between the two of you and had been pushing him to make this information public for some time now. Levi examined the two of you closely as Hanji nudged you in the ribs, ignoring Gunther as he ran across the yard towards you.
"You know (Name), I told all those stories about the olden days how the damsel would reward the man who saved her with a kiss." A hot crimson flared across your face as you began to stammer. By this point Gunther had made his way over to your little group and looked as if he was about to speak. Levi was aware, somewhere in the back of his mind, of your startled whimper as he leaned upward, crashing his lips to yours in a searing kiss. Your shaking hands grabbed his shoulder for support as his arm curled around your waist, his other hand cupping your cheek and tilting your head for a better angle. A few moments later Levi reluctantly pulled away, leaving you flushed and panting. Most in the vicinity had slacked jaws, save for Hanji who was squealing insanely. Levi cast his eyes on a shocked Gunther, growling out something that sounded similar to the word mine, before patting you on head, telling you that he'd see you at dinner, and turning on his heel as he left. Once the shock of what just happened wore off you giggled and looked at Gunther.
"Did you want something?"
"Never mind..."
