Description Memories Levi x Reader

You winced as the sunlight hit your eyes. A low mumble sputtered from your mouth as you buried yourself back under the covers.
"Mother, get up." The plush covers were peeled away and a short seven-year-old eyed you with a bored expression. Deciding to be playful you let out a whine and tried to wrestle the covers away from your son, the son who looked exactly like his father.
    "C'mon Erwin, five more minutes"
"No, you need to get out of bed. Lazy woman."
"Hey! Show some respect! I'm your mother."
"I know you are, that's why I'm telling you to get up and feed me." You sat up a small frown on your features.
"You didn't say you were hungry." He scoffed and looked away.
"Of course I am, its 9:00. We normally eat and are out of here by now." You rolled your eyes.
"Yeah, but its Saturday, don't you like to sleep in?" He just gave you a blank look. You laughed a little. "I know, of course you don't, just like your father." His lips twitched a little and he cast his eyes downwards as you ran your fingers through his short black hair. A small four-year-old girl poked her head into the room, listening to the conversation. You smiled at her, and she gave you Levi's traditional black look in return.
"That's what you keep telling me. I'm going to head downstairs." You nodded as he walked out if the room, your daughter following him. Levi was a touchy subject with the kids. Levi had... parted ways with you not long your little girl was born. A sigh left your lips as you shook your head to clear away the thoughts. After getting yourself ready you went down the stairs to see Erwin straining to reach the cabinet. He was reaching as high as he could, causing his white t-shirt to stretch up and show his belly-button. You giggled at the cute sight. Hearing you he turned a shot you a scowl. "Are you laughing about me being short?"
"Of course not sweetie." You reached up and opened the cabinet's wooden door and grabbed a colorful cardboard cereal box out. You felt a small tug on your pants and looked down to see your daughter giving you that same blank look on her face. "Yes Mikasa?"
"Can I have some too?" You grinned.
"Mm-hmm, there for you too anyways." Grabbing a couple of plastic bowls and some spoons, you led the kids to the table, where Erwin had already got out the milk. You just sat there and watched your family, not really feeling up to a meal at the moment.
"Mother?" Erwin spoke with a smaller, softer voice than usual, causing you glance over with worry. "We're going to see Father today... right?" You gave him a sad smile.
"Yeah, you gonna be ok?" His lip twitched.
"Use proper grammar." You rolled your eyes and noticed Mikasa had stopped eating and was staring at her bowl. "You ok." She looked up and nodded.
"I get to go to, right."
    "Yep."
"Then can we go now?" Though her voice and even her face didn't show it, she was clearly excited. You cast a quick glance to your son to see that he suddenly found the floor very interesting to look at.
"How about you go get ready first while I pack a picnic. It'll be about time for lunch when we get there." She nodded and scooted out of her seat and dashed towards her room. Your son, however, didn't move. "Erwin." He finally looked up at you, his face void of emotion, but his eyes looked sad. He was never able to keep his feelings out of his eyes like Levi could, because he had your eyes. She kneeled down beside and stroked his hair. "I know, it's hard for me too." Mikasa was too young to remember what happened, so it didn't bother her as much. Erwin, like you, still remembered when Levi was around all the time, and missed it terribly. He shook his head moved away from you out of the chair.
"I'm fine Mother." He flashed you a rare, sloppy grin that revealed missing tooth. "I'm the son of the great Captain Levi, I'm stronger than this." He did a small salute before turning and walking back towards his room. It took everything you had not to cry.
A little while later the three of you finally arrived at your destination, in a small, mostly empty field. Levi was in the same spot as always, at the top of the hill beneath a tree. Mikasa waved let go of your hand, running towards the spot. By the time you and Erwin caught up with her she had already perched on the ground. talking about everything that had happened to her lately. You took your usual place beside Levi with your back pressed against the tree. Erwin remained silent and sat there as Mikasa talked. Eventually she ran out of things to say and, with your permission, began to chase butterflies across the field. It was quiet for a few moments before Erwin gulped hard and began talking a little himself too. He didn't say nearly as much as Mikasa and soon he too walked off, following his sister to keep an eye on her. Nothing was said for a time as you just sat there and tried to calm the knots in your stomach. A gentle breeze carried through and the green grass swayed. When you finally did speak, your voice was shaky.
"Its not easy you know, taking care of them without you. Erwin misses you so much, Mikasa doesn't really remember." A small smile spread across your lips. "They've grown so much haven't they? its weird to think how Mikasa's in school now." More silence. "I... I miss you too. Its not the same." Tears glistened in your eyes. "I know you don't way to stay stuck over this, but I can't help it. I, I still love you Levi."

The marble felt cold against your lips. You pulled back and glance over the tombstone once more. Captain Levi Rivaille. Beloved husband, father, and friend. KIA. "I'm trying to stay strong for them, but I miss you so much. Erwin a lot like you, you know. He's so proud of you and what you did. its not fair that you didn't get to see what the world's like without titans. The world is so much bigger than we thought. Erwin says he's going to see all of it. He wants to join the Scouting Legion like you. Now they travel all over the world trying to find more survivors."
"Mother." You turned to see both of the children standing there. You finally notice dhow the sun was setting.
"Oh, right. We need to get home before dark. Go ahead and start that way, I'll be there in a minute." They nodded and walked hand-in-hand back in the direction of your house. you looked back at the tombstone longingly, placing your hand on top. "I wish I could be with you, but I have to take care of them, you know." You sniffed and stood up. "So, just wait for me for a little while longer, okay?" the breeze seemed to circle around you, like a hug. Shaking yourself out of your thoughts, you jogged to catch up with your kids as the wind whispered good-bye.

I thought this was gonna be fluffy cute fic from the thumbnail, as the story went, i thought levi and reader got divorce and shit. But then... When they walk to the hill and levi still there beneath a tree, i already know, shit's gonna go down! I was smiling through the part where mikasa talking and then there's erwin, and from the part where the reader spoke i cry so hard i have to bite my hand so i didn't interupt my sister's hardcore internet surfing. But anyway, great fic, love it, sorry this seems pretty long, and i'm on my phone so i can't show my feels through majestic icons.

No Levi said you weren't naming your son that.  A very pregnant, moody you changed his mind.

I'm making a happy version where he's not dead, so don't worry.
