For the First Time in Forever, a Jelsa one shot.

"Elsa, don't shut the world out... don't shut me out."  Jack pleaded with the thin woman at the top of the staircase.  "You don't have to protect me.  I'm not afraid of you!"  Elsa began to walk away, not wanting to let the hurt show on her face.  All her life she'd concealed her emotions.  She'd tried to let go of all of the falsities, but, confronted by the one person who knew, really knew...  She couldn't.  But she couldn't hide it from him either.

Jack's face fell as she started away.  He chased after her.  "Don't shut me out again!  Please...  Don't slam the door.  You don't have to keep your distance anymore."  All her life, Elsa had been able to see Jack.  She'd been the first person who ever could.  This fact alone had created a bond between the two that had never yet been broken.  And when Elsa had discovered her powers, he was there to help.  Whenever she got scared though, she'd get herself so worked up that she didn't see him, couldn't even hear him... and her powers got out of control.  When she'd accidentally hurt her sister, and her memories had to be altered, Elsa had begun to shut herself away.  If it hadn't been for Jack, she'd have lead a depressed life.

As it was, her heart tore apart every time her sister came knocking on the door.  So often she'd cry at having to turn away.  Jack would try and cheer her up in any way he could.  He'd play games with her and make her laugh, but since no one else could see him, it didn't work nearly as much.  Her parents thought that he was an imaginary friend.  But, when she'd become queen, he thought that she'd be happy again.

But then Anna had brought that prince over and everything had gone sour in a hurry.  She'd torn Elsa's glove off, and Elsa had immediately begun to loose control.  Jack had tried to calm her, but she was too far gone by then.  And when she'd accidentally created the jagged spikes of ice, Jack had cried out.  Elsa had fled Arendelle and left everyone behind.  Jack's first instinct had been to run after her, but he'd realized that others could see him.  He stood in shock as Anna and nearly every person in the room stared at him.  Directly at him.  Elsa's powers had opened their minds enough that he was seen.

When Anna had volunteered to go after her sister, Jack had gone too.  While Anna had to find another way up the mountain, Jack had simply flown.  When he'd seen the magnificent castle crafted out ice.  He'd instantly known that Elsa had created it.  When he'd descended to the steps and had gone in, Elsa had appeared at the top of the stairs.  She'd asked him to leave, but his stubbornness had kicked in.  She needed to know about the blizzard.  He'd tried to tame it, but to no avail.  Only Elsa could stop it.

"Elsa.  For the first time in forever, they finally understand!  For the first time in forever, we can fix this hand in hand."  Jack had reached the top of the steps, following Elsa into the grand area.  "We can head down this mountain together.  You don't have to live in fear...  For the first time in forever...  I'm right here."  He'd finished quietly.  Pleading, hoping that she'd see reason.

She turned to face him then.  A smile was plastered to her face, though her heart was breaking, knowing what she'd say.  "Jack...  Please go back home.  You've got a life to make.  Go tell them all to open up the gates."

Jack knew that she didn't mean what she was saying.  "Elsa - "

She cut him off, knowing that if he said it she'd break.  "I know, you mean well.  But leave me be.  Yes I'm alone, but I'm alone and free!"  She turned to look at the one friend she'd always had.  "Just... stay away.  You'll be safe from me."

As Elsa began to walk away, Jack knew he'd have to tell her outright what was really going on.  "Actually they're not."

She spun to face him, disbelief on her face.  "What do you mean they're not?"

    "I'm guessing you don't know."

"What do I not know?"  She'd all but demanded an answer.

"You've started a blizzard in Arendelle."

Jack stared at her as his statement sank in.  "What?"

"You set off an eternal winter, everywhere...  And I can't stop it."  It killed him to admit that, but he'd never really been able to contend with Elsa's powers, not really.

    "Everywhere?"  Elsa began to hyperventilate.

Jack knew he'd have to keep her calm or she'd only loose control again.  "It's okay, you can fix it."  He held his hands out, making a calming gesture.

    "No, I can't!  I-I don't know how!"

Jack could see he was loosing her.  Even with the alarm bells ringing in his head, he still managed to think that she'd have known if she'd listened to him more often.  "Yes you can, Elsa.  I know you can.  Because for the first time in forever..."

Elsa wasn't listening to him anymore, barely even knew he was there.  She'd descended into herself.  "I'm such a fool!  I can't be free!"

"You don't have to be afraid!"

"There's no escape from the storm inside of me!"

"We can work this out together!"

    "I can't control this curse!"

"We'll reverse this storm you've made!"

"Jack, please!  You'll only make it worse!"

He was loosing her, he'd have to work fast.  "We can fix this thing together!  We can make the sun shine bright!"

"No..."  Elsa was no so far gone that she'd created a storm within the room.  It swirled around her as Jack fought his way through.

"Elsa!"  Jack tried once more to break through.

"I can't!"  Elsa released the full fury of her powers in much the same way she'd once injured Anna.  Jack was struck hard by a shard of ice and was thrown from the balcony.  As he fell, his heart froze.  He resolved to leave Elsa to her own fate.  She obviously didn't want his help anymore.

Meanwhile Elsa had turned to find her only friend fall.  She'd raced to the balcony, hoping that he was alright.  As she glanced around looking for the boy who blended to the landscape, she spied him flying off.  And her heart broke just a bit more, knowing that she'd driven away the only person who'd cared enough to try and help... when no one else could.

Usually, I don't like it when fanfictions take the majority of the scene's plot/dialogue from the original, but you actually pulled it off really well. Like, really really well. That's hard to do and I love it! *Favorites*

So many of them! I really liked the part where Pitch and Frost fought on the mountain and also when Jack saved his sister from the ice. Also, the part where Jack was running around Pitch's lair right before he gets the teeth back. It was like a maze! What about you?

Me too! Oh, that's tough. I'd say the mountain scene, too. I just love the dialogue!

I love how Jack just attacked him out of nowhere. Most movies just make the enemies talk to each other, but that wouldn't happen in real life! If someone's enemy came after them right after breaking up their friendships, they'd attack! They'd attack big time!   And I loved it

I know! But I do like that they talked, but just a little.

I like them talking, too, but I like how they added the fighting. I really really liked it how they were talking (yelling) while fighting. That was golden!

Do you think if the Internet complains enough, they'll do a Frozen and Rise Of The Guardian crossover? I'd love to see Anna's reaction to North and Sven's to Bunny

Was the beginning part reverting back to Elsa in her younger days? I couldn't tell at first, I had to re-read it after I stopped at "Nearly every person in the room could see him."

Also, I doubt Jack would leave in an instant, but that's just me. He's a fighter and will fight for the greater good, even if it means his life is at stake. Possibly he'll return, thinking, "Nah, it's just that time of the month. She's probably PMS-ing." Elsa could thaw him, like she thawed Arendelle, like you said. He would have to return for that endeavor...

Ooooh!!! I like! but how would Jack fix his frozen heart? Because if his heart hadn't frozen I'm sure he would never have given up trying to help Elsa.

Elsa thaws Arendelle, she'd thaw Jack too.  However, it is a one shot and so I'll not do another piece elaborating... though it crossed my mind.
