Description
This is something I've been working on, a bit at a time, for the past few weeks. Modelling each object in 3D proved to be a huge task and took a lot longer than I originally thought but the feeling of completing it was awesomeRead more here on my blog (inc. some close-up details).

That's a lot of work. How many hours you've spend on this? Btw, this is amazing. Kids should see this

I really don't have a clue about how many hours I spent on this because I worked on it in parts, but I know it took a looooong time!

Greatly appeals to my love of things scientific! I guess there's not a great deal you can really say about the Lanthanides, huh?

Well the Lanthanoids are all pretty similar and are used in very similar applications, so there wasn't a huge variety of objects to work with there.

I don't want to see this again for the rest of my life...
We had to write the whole table on highschool...
But the way you present it, it's really cute and nice!

Looking at it brought back memories of chemistry classes for me too, and not good ones! But yeah, I aimed to present it better and make it more fun to look at

To add some more balance and also some well deserver praise here, I was a total science buff at high school. I had mainly A*'s in my exams (not to brag or anything) and yet since leaving high school this has been the first time science and art has collided in an interestingly educational way which as actually made me think "I could really learn something new here!"
Well done!
I think yours should be commissions to replace this one:

crazytimo In reply to HarryJ96 [2009-11-03 03:54:00 +0000 UTC]
Actually... it cant be done better since the elements she "didnt bother to do" are either just transitory elements, decay products and/or just elements which have no world-reknown application which is obviously what was set out to be done here and was done beautifully ^^

So... I'm taking your headphones, with their neodymium magnets, your LED screens, which contain other lanthanide elements, your internet access, which relies on fibre optics using lasers containing those same lanthanide elements, any old CRT monitors, TVs, or fluorescent tube bulbs you have around, which also use lanthanides in their phosphor coatings, and pretty much anything else you have which uses strong, permanent magnets, which will also contain either samarium or neodymium. Oh, and if you happen to have an old mantle-based gas lamp, I'm taking that, too, since those use thorium, or anything pre-1970-ish that glows in the dark, since there's a reasonable chance that'll use radium. And your smoke detector, since that'll almost always contain americium.
But, yes, it's very pretty.
