And since I already have my two from contests, the only way I would ever be getting another one is to buy it. Which I sort of refuse to do for personal reasons. 8/

I admit it, I am sacrificing the "integrity" of this species so I can have fun at a convention. I assure you this won't be happening again after this is done, though. So it might create a spike in the amount of MTTs right now, it will even out in the future.
Also, one thing most people don't understand is that the MTTs aren't closed because they're meant to be special and exclusive, they're closed for quality control reasons. I am pretty sure people who are willing to shelf out considerable amounts of money for their MTTs are not gonna leave them gathering dust in the corner.
I still don't think this counts as them turning into a conveyor belt species, though. I make a new lineart for each custom, and try to make each design unique, so there's still much more effort involved than in your standard lineart recolor adoptables.
Many people are getting customs only because they want to support my trip, others are people who have tried several times in adoption contests, but haven't won. I think it's fair to let these people have an MTT, too.
All that said though, I do understand where you're coming from, and I did have qualms about doing this myself, but in the end the possibility of paying for much of this trip myself overshadowed the negative sides. I quite honestly did not expect so many people to want customs when I put this deal up. I just hope this doesn't put a damper on your enjoyment of the species overall u__u

And no, It wouldn't affect my enjoyment of the species. x3 Just make me grumble a little X'D Don't get me wrong I love my MTTs and no matter what happens to the rest of the species my characters won't change.

Well one thing you can be sure of, the MTTs will never become a money-only species. There will always be more ways to get one for free than to get one for money. This current custom fad is probably sucking the MTT communtiy dry anyway, so I don't think anyone will even want to pay for MTTs again after this, and that's fine with me |D
And there's hope for you getting another MTT yet! I am still planning the huge 500 member giveaway so I can't say anything for sure, but you might qualify to take part in some of the several raffles and other stuffses that will be happening :>
