okay so like i have a lot of weird stuff happening when it comes to cadance (my beloved) and her entire story but this isn't about her this is about what happens to sombra
so sombra in my universe is more abiding by the comic version of him (superior) wherein radiant hope brings him back and then saves him at the end
however, in mine, she sacrifices her body and soul to give him a pony body so that he could stay, and in the process, essentially becomes a part of him
sombra, like the first time, comes back with little to no memories. the difference here is that he frequently gets deja vu and strong feelings about things that have happened, plus he obviously is taught who he is and what he's done in the past

also he comes back as like a 9 year old or something because i said so

he can feel radiant's soul within him and sometimes can seem like an entirely different person, being bright and bubbly instead of his usual quiet and reserved attitude
when he's reborn, the first thing he does is, surrounded by the princesses and the crystal empire he once again had tried to overthrow, began to cry because he felt as though he'd lost something so important to him, that his very heart had been scooped out

having nowhere else to go, and because its her, cadance has him move into the castle and takes him in as her own
from there, cadance teaches him about what love ponies have to offer, chrysalis teaches him about overcoming guilt, flurry teaches him how to stand up for others, and uatchit teaches him that being two things at once isn't the worst thing in the world

he grows especially close to uatchit, as they both "shouldn't exist" in the eyes of shining armor and, upon finding his old diary and maps written in a language oddly familiar to him and him alone, he realizes that the shattered pieces of amore are still out there, and if assembled, he could bring her back
wanting to pay the crystal empire back for everything he'd put it through and done to it, he decides to set out to collect the pieces of their long gone ruler
uatchit tags along as well, wanting to explore and discover who she was meant to be, even if it broke her heart to leave her mothers and flurry behind
