Rarity is one of those clean beauties, where make up plays no part. She is not thin, her hips are wide and her legs strong and curved. The lines of her cheekbones (Peruvian heritage thankyyou) and the soft pout of her lips are reflected by the simplicity of her clothing. Clean and simple but beautifully tailored, by herself of course. All pieces in their own right. No need to mess up such natural elegance with frills and sequins, thank you darling.

Pinkie loves her dresses, those old 50's ones, all polka dots and stripes and big flared skirts and wide cheery belts that hide her tum. She is a bit chubby but why should she care? If it comes from wonderful things like cupcakes and cookies, she doesn't care in the slightest. Her friends love her as she is. She keeps her hair in a short bob but it rarely stays in shape, as uncontrollable as her laughter. Her Scandinavian background is obvious in her smiling blue eyes.

Twilight has never cared for fashion (as Rarity will testify to) but cares for comfort. She stays within her uniform, calm dress shirts and deeply coloured jumpers and cardigans. Easy clothes for writing in. Her tanned skin has gotten lighter with the time she spends in the library, more cafe au lait than the exoticies of India, although she has her fellow's accent down pat now, not a hint of Bangladeshi. She is a very quick learner after all.

Like Twilight, Fluttershy prefers large cardigans and jumpers, but in soft pinks, yellow's and greens. Flowing skirts to show thin coltish legs and delicate bird boned feet. She likes to hide herself but cannot bare to be without grass beneath her toes. She wears her hair long, a little afraid to cut it, despite her admiration of the hairstyles of movie stars. Her eyes are soft and almond shaped, open to all who wish to look.

Dash is a bit harsher in style, one of the first in the town to cut her hair short. She likes styling it, sharp and spiked. Like lightening. She's had a few dyke remarks from some of the guys but you know what? Fuck it. Dash likes feeling like there's a storm above her head when she moves. She wears her dad's RAF jacket, wears his buttons. It clashes horribly with her hair but she wouldn't part with it. She wants to be like him, wants to look the part. Her face is strong, angular, her jaw too square to be pretty but she was striking. She liked that.

AJ is obviously a country girl. You can tell from how she says hello, not from the accent but the flex of muscle earned through hard work when she salutes and the contrasting, apple cheeked smile that went with it. She would throw her hair into a loose plait, just to stick it out of the way and her choice of clothes went in the same fashion. Comfortable, workable, would last a while but cheerful. Everything about her seemed sunny.

I wanted to do some human versions of the ponies from Friendship is Magic (my not so guilty pleasure). I wanted to add some ethnicity, not out of equality but this was just how I saw them in my head. My favourites are Rarity and Pinkie c:
