Personality:
Sterling is hedonistic and impulsive, unable to help himself when simple pleasures and wants are involved. He's emotionally manipulative, but its mostly unintentional unless he's purposely pushing for something he wants. He's sadistic and ruthless disguised by flirtatious smiles and lewd promises and ruled by a set of personal stipulations. There are very few he actually cares about. The ones that he does are everything to him. However, when somebody does mess with the people he loves, they tend to live only to regret their mistake and then regret living.

However, under all that he is a half decent person, doing what he can against the things he thinks are wrong like fighting against slavery of protos where he can. He absolutely adores kids and would have a million of his own but is also somewhat afraid of being a fuck up dad like his parents so for both of his lives, he's made sure his partners don't want kids just to minimize the chances.

He doesn't actually lie, but he's exceptionally good at keeping secrets. Its just that he tells you everything you think you shouldn't know (TMI Sterling) so you don't actually think there's anything else to tell. He's a snarky asshole. Will do the raising a single eye brow and give you the look like 'what?' knowing full well what he did was wrong.

Backstory:
First life Sterling was not much different from second life albeit more lenient with his hedonism and sadism in cases where it didn't break his own rules. It was all drinks and fun and sex and torture (which is technically fun). And being a general nuisance to slavers by deliberately sabotaging their attacks and freeing slaves and skulls where he could. He died on one such mission ("You have nightmares about being impaled by a piss colored trident and see how you feel afterwards.").

Both first life and second life, Sterling was raised by Mahir who told him he was her half brother. She did her best though he was a difficult pup to raise with little empathy for others and little interest in right vs wrong. He grew up both lives hating his royal father for abandoning both Mahir and himself and would gladly punch the man in the balls should they ever meet.

However, Mahirs lessons got through a little better second life where he was a little afraid of how much he actually enjoyed torturing and instilling pain in others, almost as much as he enjoyed giving others the ultimate pleasure. He doesn't drink this life, but he also doesn't say no to a night of fun so long as they know its just a night they get him for. He travels a lot, most of the time living off odd jobs and what he can provide for himself. He comes back to visit Mahir every hundred years or so to prevent her from worrying too much.
