Description
I kept seeing this "Inktober" thing floating around over the years, but never actually by the first of October, so I've always been too late to jump in. Not this year! Unfortunately, as my scanner has ceased to exist, I'm forced to do this whole thing digitally, though I do have some nice pens that I really need to break in one of these days.Not only am I taking this as a "draw a thing every day for a month" challenge, I'm also constraining myself in two other ways, because I like needless restrictions:
* I can only work at a canvas size of 800x600, alterable only in orientation.
* I can only work in black and white.
Let's see if I can keep at it. I'll be going with the prompts on inktober.com/rules .
============
So yesterday was the absolute inverse of the day before: no inspiration, early work, late headache. So I have another lapse. Bah.
It's the perfect heist. Knock out the power, slip in under cover of darkness and snatch the goods... But wait, it'll be dark! Better pack a light so I can see! ... Curses, how did they find me?!
This one's inspiration comes to you from TV Tropes. If I'm paraphrasing correctly, the trope titled "With Catlike Tread" is all about hilariously exaggerated failure to be stealthy while still taking the stealth attempt seriously, with varied results. Leave it to me to come up with something for "tread" that doesn't involve feet or wheels or even treads.
What can I say? I like these dark background pieces. The plan for this one sort of shifted as it went, so it ultimately turned out a lot simpler than it started. Hopefully it's readable. No time to ponder this one, though. I have today's actual entry yet to finish.
