Firestar, in a battle stance. Based of the Warrior books by Erin Hunter.It's a little fuzzy because I had to enlarge it to fit the background, but I think it turned out okay.

What I do is use the photos as references. I use them to see what the proper outline for the body should be, where the legs and ears and things should be positioned to look right. The stance in this pic was based off a photo of an angry tabby cat I found online. I did not directly trace it, and after I had drawn it I colored my drawing and placed it on a background. Because I did this extra work of redrawing and recoloring, I don't think copyright applies here. Even if it does, this drawing was made purely for fun and not for profit, so I doubt the original photographer would object, even if he stumbled across my pic on the web.

Not a problem- you can find actual photos of cats through Google image search, though- that's where I found the references for these pictures.
