I head onto the farm where TDWDTG is being held before the rodeo.

(The Devil was already saddled up and waiting in the chute for practice.)

I gently pat his neck through the bars.
βGive a good fight, alright big fella?β

(The horse doesn't bite at him, but it nickers and throws up its head slightly, wanting to bust out of the chute.)

I chuckle and jump the fence, getting ready to let him out and stay safe.

(The horse moved around in the chute, trying to get used to him on his back.)

I sit as still as possible, gently rubbing his shoulder.
βAlright big fella. All set?β

(He snorted in agreement)

I smile and fix my grip.

(The horse bolted out of the chute, and bucked around in circles as hard as it could.)

I try my best to stay astride his back.
Iβll let if I fall off or not be up to you.

(4 more seconds to go. The horse thrashed around, and continued to buck.)

I last the rest of the time, waiting a tag after in case he stops and lets me calmly dismount, and if he doesnβt then I roll off and bolt to the fence.

(The horse continues to buck, since he was wearinf the flank strap)

I hop off his back, grabbing the strap and flipping it back so that he can buck it off easier.

(The horse bucks off the strap, and then comes to a halt, panting.)

I walk over to him, gently petting his neck.
βHowdy there buddy, need a break?β

The horse neighs and walks back from his rider.

I smile, gently petting him.
βGood boy. Letβs get you set.β
I rub my hand down his neck, rubbing around the base while unclipping the saddle.

(He neighs again, then runs off inside the barn.)

I smile and grab the saddle which now lays on the floor, following the energetic stallion.

(He drinks from the through, but doesn't pay attention to his rider.)

I put the saddle away and head towards Devil Down, gently rubbing at his back as he drinks.
I look him over to see if he needs a bath or any other sort of care.

(The horse almost bolts again upon having his rider touch his body. He was still sort of a wild one.)

βWoah, itβs alright big fella... I wonβt hurt you... I donβt agree with the stables want to train you to buck either, but I wonβt hurt you, I swear.β
I calmly and gently run my hands through his mane as I speak softly and calmly.

(Eventually, the horse gives in to his kindness, and whinnies.)

I smile, continuing to gently pet him, this time offering a small treat to the stallion.

(He sniffs the treat, and looks up to his rider.)

βItβs alright big fella. Itβs a little something for behaving and doing well.β

I smile, gently petting him as he does.

(It was later time for the rodeo. The horse was saddled up, as it waited in the bucking chute.)

I pet him as he waits in the chute.
βAlright big fella, letβs see how you do today.β
I hop the fence and wait for his rider to show. Iβm just a trainer, not a real rodeo person.

(A border collie cowboy then put on his riding glove, as he strokes the horse's mane.) "Howdy there, partner."
(The horse nickers and moves a bit.) "Can you give me a ride? I just need to break this record."

I tip my hat to him.
βHeβs all prepped from my end. He put a bit of practice in earlier too, so heβs in top shape.β

"Thank you kindly, partner. I got myself a pony to ride." He then gets on the saddle, and later moves his body back and forth a bit, as if he were mimicking how his body feels when sitting on a walking horse. "Come on, Giddyup now, boy." He grabs on the bronc rein, and raises his free hand. "Let him out!"

I hop in with a sigh and open the gate up letting the collie and the stallion go wild.
