Description
IT'S DONE it's done guys. This is my showjumping entry for the Equi-Canine Show
Thank you so much MistyofSunrise for giving me a few extensions. I know this isn't a very good a.k.a shitty entry but I really wanted to get it up and get the idea out of my head. I just had two large IB math exams so I had to work around those and studying, too....
>>STORY<<
Jesse tugged on his shirt, puffing under the shadow of his large-rimmed hat because of the 'warmth'. Rush glanced over at him, wearing his full Sherlock costume which consisted of his normal clothes, a long duster coat, and then another smaller... whatever-it's-called coat on top. And a hat. And gloves. And pants. And a white (thank goodness) long-sleeved shirt.
"You're such a baby," he grumbled, patting Neo's neck. The stallion looked around curiously at the dainty Alice In Wonderland jumps, a little bewildered by the fact that there were small shining white things that apparently humans used to pour liquid? He shook his mane.
"Oh shut it, grumps," Jesse puffed back, flicking his ear, "You focus on your performance and I'll focus on getting a spot in the shade so I don't suffer from a heat stroke."
"It's only 17 degrees or so, Jesse," Rush reminded dryly, raising an eyebrow at him sarcastically.
"Yes. It's warm," Jesse nodded.
"You're from Montana, what kind of a cowboy are you?" Rush huffed, shaking his head and checking his stirrups before mounting.
"A damn good one, thank you very much Mr. Holmes," Jesse teased.
"Loser," Rush replied, shaking his head.
"Dumbass," Jesse shot back and they both chuckled. There were people walking all around, both dressed in costume or just regular clothes, and the whole Alice In Wonderland theme was everywhere.
"This is pretty awesome," Jesse decided, nodding contently. Stamp of approval for this quarter's Equi-Canine show from Jesse Aldaine. Rush said nothing, quietly flicking his eagle-eye gaze around.
"Yeah," he finally nodded before walking Neo away to go warm up. The Appaloosa stallion flicked his large, thick tail and tossed his head, chomping on the bit.
"You're not in a costume because that would be way too warm," Rush puffed to him, rubbing his neck, "I'm sweating buckets in this thing, we could probably fill a swimming pool." They walked around quietly, Neo tossing and bobbing his head excitedly. By now the high-strung stallion had gotten used to shows (finally) and they could focus on some bigger performances. That is, if Rush wanted it. And right now, he was perfectly fine going to the smaller scale shows where not a lot of top-notch horses were performing.
"Not that you're not a top-notch horse," Rush chuckled, rubbing Neo's neck affectionately while stopping him and watching the other contestant in the riding ring. Neo snorted in agreement.
