A bit basic, but if a backstory ain’t broke, don’t try to retcon it with something that ruins 60 years worth of lore. I think with every new timeline, it’ll have a different backstory for the Doctor, considering there’s so much uncertainty and confusion regarding his past. I’m not even sure if he’s ever had parents or if he was just “loomed” into existence or something along those lines.
