Cool photo! And yes I learned the name of the flower just recently which shocked me since I have a yard filled with them and I used to pick these for my mom when I was little along with my sister, and the insect looks like some sort of assassin bug which I have in my garden too.

Thank you. You're lucky that they grow in your yard. I usually find them near the streets in my neighborhood.

They're kinda common in some parts of Texas mostly around my area.

No wonder I've seen a lot of them in the spring. I also live in Texas.

Very pretty flowers...but why are they called "Crow Poison"?

I think it's because it was originally grown to poison crows and prevent them from eating other crops.

Cute flowers (though with a less cute name haha)! The white stands out nicely against the subdued green background and the bug seems to be having a relaxing afternoon on its new sunbed!

Wonderful shot! (In my language, we call it 'weird garlic', but I've seen it here only once in the botanical garden so far.)Β Nevertheless, it's a beautiful flower!

Thank you so much. It is my favorite flower. Do you happen to know what the bug that is on one of the flowers in the back is called?

Sadova302b50 In reply to AnonymousRabbitLover [2016-03-28 11:55:53 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I am sorry, I have no idea what it could be. I'll try to search, but I am a bit pessimistic.
Edit: The pity is, that the bug is only in the background, because it seems to me, it's a nymph of some bug. In addiction to it, I'm not not familiar with your local bugs, it could be a genus of Zelus, but as I said, I am not sure at all.
