Skinned Judas + a masochistic way of still living after the pain he suffers, enduring the pain everyone is inflicting on him. Mental, physical, emotional and spiritual pains. Though it hurts him he still continues his mission to betray Chirist on purpose.
Hangman’s Rope + Judas’ suicide. Selfishness. Self Sacrifice. Loner. Dying alone.
The Praying Hands + though physically ruined and emotionally depressed, Judas’ faith remained strong, he died knowing that he will go straight down to hell, that he takes all the burden, and doesn’t expecets anyone’s prayers to be for him to save him from hell’s fire. Yet, his faith is strong. It could not be broken nor bent, he still believes in god and does so in the end. It is the only thing he brings with him where ever he is.
Blood Tears + Regret. Sorrow. Sadness. Unbearable pain.
Nose Bleed + mental illness. Stress. Burden. Pain.
+artist’s + explanation+
Since I was a kid, I’ve never considered Judas to be evil. Though I liked the Satanic and Evil things that manifest in the world, I really didn’t consider him that. I always felt wrong about accusing Judas to be a sinner or someone who had disobeyed Jesus. I felt he had to do that, what he did, he had to do that and it had a purpose. Being a child then, I wasn’t able to really focus on these thoughts. Not until I was a painter. Should I be reminded of what I thought of Judas when I recently saw the National Geographic documentary, the GospeL of Judas. And it awoken something in my memory, I wasn’t really found of treating Judas as a traitor of Jesus, but to me, he was a saint for Christians. My mind was, as I saw, corrupted and clouded by Dante’s Inferno, that Judas sits in one of Satan’s 3 mouths.
To me, Judas, was still an apostle, he had a good heart, he wouldn’t be so tempted enough to just betray Jesus. To me, Peter should be hated, because he betrayed Jesus thrice how Judas betrayed him. And Peter was thinking of not being stoned, saving his own life.
I could be wrong with all this, but we really don’t have all the answers in this life. If we ever make mistakes that we thought we’re really doing is right, and you people go to heaven, and be forgiven about it. Then it’s not that farfetch’d if Judas thought he was doing the right thing, but was actually not, and was still forgiven to go to heaven. After all Christians should love their enemies, I don’t see why priests still condemn or say bad things about Judas.

Yea, that whole story about Jesus dying or our sins... couldn't have happened without Judas betraying him, and the priests having him killed. (Actually the Roman did.) Then I don't know why the priests and Judas are painted as evil - someone just had to do it to make that whole dying for us thing possible!

Amazing painting, really got my attention! I love art that can do that..
Your explanation was really well worded, heartfelt. I believe that Jesus died for us, whatever we've done, whether its steal a car or murdered your child. So Judas could have, in effect, been completely forgiven for what he did. After all Peter denied he knew Jesus THREE times! But I think the difference between Judas and everyone else was the weight he must have carried with NO RELEASE. Peter asked for forgiveness, and like ANYONE who asks, he was given it for free.
It says in the Bible that Judas repented of what he did, he threw the money down in the temple, he must have felt so much regret and sorrow and complete anguish! He'd just betrayed the man he thought was the Messiah. As a Jew he'd been waiting for this his whole life! Yet it must have been so confusing to him, after all, surely the great Messiah wouldn't have LET himself get caught..? Our minds get so tangled in questions and doubt - I feel so sorry for Judas Iscariot. In the end he was the most hated and unhappy man in the world. And he killed himself. And he was completely alone. But without him, without the betrayer, Jesus wouldn't have died as an innocent man.
I honestly don't know whether Judas went to Hell or will be reborn new with Jesus, but I do know he suffered and did the worst thing a man can do.

thank you! thank you for your very well thought of response. yes, i agree with everything you just said. and it doesn't necessarily mean that we, should sin or betray if we can because Jesus, or somehigher being can forgive us.. it means that, if we make mistakes, we should learn to accept that we were wrong. and repent. in Judas' case, it's very complicated, making Judas as a saint, would tremble the Catholic church, but, as human beings, with mind and hearts that can understand people are just people and aren't perfect, we can believe what we truly feel is right, even with the church's unauthorization.
thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i agree with you on that Judas believes he did what was right. but what i do not believe is that he was told to do so..... atleast not with a voice. i mean the bible says that Jesus died for our sins. that could not have happend without Judas. now with that aside. i think this is an excellently done picture.
