How's it bad? Cloud's not much of a counterpart due to his emo-ness which Lightning lacks.

Well, Lightning is generally supposed to be the girl version of Cloud anyway.

(Sorry on butting in) But I read on sites that she was based on Cloud,yes. At the same time they did base some of her character on Squall, too
