No, they're just some characters loosely based on the actual mythological beings called elves [link] . Actually, they're more like a pretext to draw the crowns. Nothing to do with elves as depicted in books, games, movies etc.

It's a GORGEOUS painting but it really bothers me how the hand is sticking out of nowhere! would look better if you painted a sleeve, so we see where the hand comes from

I was trying to add a little surrealism in the mix, so the hand is actually floating/the arm is invisible.

I think it may be because her arms are invisible. Reason I say this, I'm familiar with people who draw characters that have invisible arms and legs, thus it looks like that.
