Obviously, this work is so much better but I can't help but to wonder if you took my painting as one of your references at the very beginning of the process... It seems strangely similar O-O

I always take my own reference photos for characters, so the pose similarity is a coincidence. I'd show you the original reference, but it's a decidedly unglamorous shot of me wearing tights and a wifebeater and holding some headphones as a placeholder for the crown. You can also see i had three sketch variants and the art director happened to choose this one for the final file cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/i…

Lol don't worry it wasn't in any case an accusation. I was just curious (and I kinda hoped that I had inspired such a gorgeous artwork ^^) It's just that sometimes seeing someone else's picture can give us ideas, even if their work is way less good. I think your work is incredible, I've been following you for a long time. Thanks for giving me the link to your sketches, they are awesome!

Thank you for your kind words! I know everybody finds inspiration in other people's work, but i'd never go as far as copying a pose without crediting the reference, even more so when it comes to commercial work. Not saying it was an accusation, but i wanted to do my best to prove it's a coincidence and assure you i don't find plagiarism acceptable.

The clarity of detail in this piece is amazing. The crown as a light source plays well with the figure, especially the metals. I’m jealous of your hair, one day I will figure out how to render that consistently.
