That's fine - the painting I did was actually based on a photo the client gave me, which similarly I don't know the original source of :V

Heh, actually, it doesn't match up with the original at all. And regardless, I don't mind if people copy my art for practice - I just would like them to give credit in the description, which I've asked.

Nah, they can copy all my work if they really want. I just prefer that if they're going to post it that they give credit. I'd actually be rather flattered if someone decided to copy my whole gallery o_O

Seriously, though?

If I were afraid of somehow losing my identity because someone copied my work, I shouldn't be posting on the internet. Harmless copying for practice/fun/personal enjoyment only poses a threat to people who are insecure.

If you ever go to a technical art instruction school, a lot of instructors won't let you NOT copy. Copying is good practice - how are people supposed to be able to draw something well if they aren't looking at it and know what it looks like?

But yeah, in case it was confusing before, I'm the original artist of [link] which this image by ~ToddWolf is likely to be based on. I was just saying I personally don't see anything wrong with copying, so long as they aren't trying to sell it or something.

I'm the original artist :b I didn't have to ask anyone - in this particular case, I was paid by a client to repaint an existing photograph of two wolves as his characters, which I then repainted again as regular wolves.
