Description
A mysterious figure from Okoto's past, Velika trained both Makuta and Ekimu in the art of mask making, and gave the each their legendary masks, which he forged personally. To Makuta, He gave the mask of control, as he showed power and creativity, but had little discipline and dangerous amounts of ambition. To his student Ekimu, He gave the mask of creation, as he showed great devotion and wisdom, but was rigid and unyielding in deed and thought.He wears the completed mask of time and with it he has shaped Okoto's past and future.

Have you considered building a “Ekimu the Mask Maker”-sized Great Being Velika MOC, to go with, well, Ekimu the Mask Maker and JTO Makuta?

As you read, I have a Great Being OC, too, but that’s going to be just art, since there’s not nearly enough accurate pieces in gold to represent him. 😛 But I can show the art to you when it’s finished. Btw, my friend (who’s drawing said art) likes this MOC, and is inspired by the hammer!

I like it. The backstory is unique and meshes nicely with the previous lore, and I can picture the character's appearance from your description, which is something I have a hard time with in writing. I also like how you took previous characters (maxilos and an Iron wolf) and gave them something to do. That was one of the biggest things I liked about the G1 story, its clever reuses of auxilliary characters.

Cool! Before you start, you'll probably want to read the rules on the first page, and, if you want to be extra-certain you’re in the clear, run your ideas past Syme or an assistant GM. They generally discourage godmodding or deliberately OP characters.
Oh, a cool thing people do in the Arena is running their own plots and events; for example, one of Psyco’s current plots is a call to arms against a mysterious extra-universal organization of evil (or just misguided, in the case of a few agents) characters from different media (such as Dark Mega Man.EXE, Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter, and formerly Springtrap from FNaF, to name a few), known as the Assassins, though their ultimate target is currently unknown...I'm usually involved in stuff like that when I can, though I’m particularly outta' luck atm because my laptop needs repair, though I'm planning on getting back into the Arena more when it’s fixed. ATM, I'm involved in a secret plot with Psyco through private messaging.
Oh, if you run into (Devil)Psyco, Syme(Synth), and IchigoMontoya, it’d be cool if you told them I suggested that you consider the Arena! They’re some of the first friends I made on Tv Tropes, and Ichigo was one of the ones who got me involved in the Arena. 😀

...I had a character idea about a Great Being who wore the completed Mask of Time and watched the Matoran Universe from afar, before slipping inside incognito to deal with things more personally...ironically, Velika serves as his mortal enemy because Tempus (my time-based Great Being) wants to capture him and bring him to justice for his crimes, and for interfering with the stable course that the world was heading to without the rule of the Great Beings. This...is an uncanny coincidence...

That is an impressive coincidence. My idea was that velika’s endgame was eliminating the most powerful and dangerous players from the matoran universe, then keeping the original 6 toa as a failsafe, and starting over by creating a forced utopia with the survivors. Using the mask of time to speed up the process, and forging the second mask of time to complete the original. The complete mask of time allows full temporal manipulation, allowing him to go back and undo mistakes. So the inhabitants of okoto might have figured out what was going on before, but anyone who rebelled would just be erased with temporal manipulation.

Yeah, that sounds like EXACTLY what Tempus is trying to avert by arresting Velika. To this end, he had stolen the prototype complete Vahi (known as the Great Master’s Vahi, or Kanohi Ma-Vahi Nui in Matoran,) and took the shape of a golden pre-reconstruction (for the cog teeth on the arms) Matoran wearing the G1 Vahi, named Chronu, operating under the alibi that he’s a forgotten type of Matoran called a Va-Matoran. He’s a master at repairing and reprogramming, and skilled with Iron powers along with Time manipulation. His lieutenants are the “Watch-Man”, which is actually the very Maxilos that Teridax possessed and later abandoned, patched up with clockwork and golden armor, and given a heightened artificial intelligence, and the “Watch-Dog” which is an Iron Wolf that Tempus rescued and repaired its vital systems through clockwork life-support and golden clockwork armor. It now serves as the Watch-Man’s replacement to Spinax. Tempus carries a scythe and a gear-shaped shield, and wears a blue cloak.

He's done. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow, did a cool ornamental shield and redid his torso so it was cleaner and tighter. The mask I ordered arrived, and its perfect. Decided to call his axe ' The Unmaker'

I haven’t decided. He’s actually really hard to integrate into g2 since there aren’t any other toa. He wouldn’t be a threatening toa killer if he never killed any toa. Kind of like general grievous in the second clone wars cartoon

Yeah, that bit was weird. That first episode with maul is pretty strange. His other ones include taking over mandalore, fighting sidious, fighting Kenobi and Ventress, taking over the black sun and killing off most of the hutts.

Yeah. He was pretty fun rebels too, probably the only good bad guy other than thrawn. I mean Vader was awesome but he was only in a handful of episodes

That's a cool idea, I like the reuse of of maxilos. Is Tempus gold? I'm also a fan of the old mctoran design, you could make so many different ones. Is this a continuation of the G1 stories that kind of just trailed off after it ended?

Tempus’ cog shield in the art is going to be a modified Mobile Devastator wheel , because it fits the clockwork motif.

Yeah that’s the perfect peice for a clockwork theme. I wish they’d used it a bit more, huge lime wheels only work on so many things. I was really tempted to replace the green ones on mine with the dark gray, since I removed a lot of the random colors on it.

In the Tempus art, it’s likely going to be in gold with perhaps one of the spokes removed and the other two developed into 'hands', as memory serves. His scythe is going to have one of Toa Lhikan's greatswords for the head, and a Toa Mahri dagger as a spearhead on the reverse end, for stabbing, slashing, and parrying when the full sweep of a scythe won't cut it. I picked a scythe because they've commonly been associated with Time.

The great sword piece is perfect for that, axle connection is in the right place. I made a scythe like weapon for ekimu using a pair of hero factory fire-villain blades and a claw piece in gold, it’s a homage to takanuvas staff in the movie

Thanks! I felt a robot that important couldn’t be scrapped. Yeah, the pre-reconstruction Matoran were delightfully simple. ...er, I suppose you could say that, in that it’s a continuation of the story in the way that them being on Spherus Magna and Velika being ousted as a Great Being comes from the story? I mainly created this timeline as a backstory for Tempus in a forum game on Tv Tropes called Enter the Arena as your Avatar , and it takes some creative liberties, such as my interpretation of the Great Beings not being Glatorians, as I felt that was close to a cop-out, and, well, there’s boatloads right of characters in the Arena, from video game characters to Bionicle to marvel characters to OCs. If you’ve heard of Ready Player One, the Arena is kinda’ reminiscent of OASIS, except they’re all 'real' and from their own universes, instead of being gaming avatars. The Arena is a mysterious possibly-intelligent dimension that shifts arrangement into a location from pop culture every once in a while, and said characters interact and fight inside it after being drawn in or visiting for their own reasons, whether friendly or malevolent. It’s actually pretty cool.

This character pretty much came together from that mask of time, and my own head canon for G2. I hadn't thought about the mask being lost at sea though, that does match this characters colors perfectly. I was going for an old, elegant but somewhat sinister character like turaga Dume. He's basically been shaping the world as he see's fit with both halves of the mask of time.

it all makes sense now. i know why bionicle g2 was so bland... it was Velika's utopia! where everything was simple. Velika created G2, because everything in G1 went too convoluted for him, so he created a time line for himself and inserted himself as the "legendary mask maker"... that was also the reason why greg wasn´t involved in bionicle anymore. velika betrayed him...
but jokes aside, good moc! and nice mask.
