I am not so afraid of him. The thing that scares me is whatever he got that horn/tusk thing from...

My guess is he just found it somewhere since he can only pick on folk smaller than him

May I ask him where he found it? Because I don't want to go there.

I'm thinking now that the horn really belongs to the barbarian & she's come back looking for it

Either way, he's getting the stabby-stab.

Wow! Amazing work! Love it!

I was wandering if you could let me us this image for an Android game called "Kingdoms of Myth", it's turn based strategy game based on a fantasy World. You can find a little bit more info in this rough website made by my colleges lifeisinfinity.eu5.org/infinit… (Sorry for the bad English). Of course you will have full credits of your work and link to your webpage if you want

Lot of thanks for your time

Now *that* is a proper JΓΆtunn!

QUERY:Β  Is that curved cone at the giant's waist a scabbard for a missing blade, or just a mammoth tusk of some sort (or both)?

AnthonyDevine In reply to Sequito-Equitis [2014-05-22 05:47:12 +0000 UTC]

i like Jotunn better, so I'm renaming it that yeah, its a drinking horn from a mammoth Β originally there was some type of dagger/sword there, but i felt it just didn't gel pretty good. Β Besides, i like the fact we know he loves a good bevy now...maybe that's why his confidence is up

although I did not fave this one, I would like to salute its remarkable composition: the symmetry of the enemies' positions and attitudes and the giant's expression gives the feeling of a formal duel, perhaps with greater stakes than ther lives; it's very impressive and it's an interesting break with the usual giants as dumb brutes.
However, I really don't like the "blurry" technique you've used here; so to my taste it is a great picture ruined. Β Β

muchas gracias for your comments. Β I really appreciate the time youve taken to evaluate the painting from your own point of view Β By "blurry", do you mean as in brush work, example with trees or over all throughout the painting? Β I applied a filter technique at the end of the painting & just wanted to note for future (experimenting). Β cheers.

I guess so, yes. My taste runs toward clearly defined contours.

Also, I'm glad you found my comment worth replying to.
