"You want to be a reporter?" the editor chuckled at her. "Then prove you can do it. Get a scoop, a real scoop, and we'll see about that open spot and who should get it."

Chiyo Matsumoto had a hunch that the rash of dock workers going missing would do the trick. Over the next few weeks she snooped around the docks and asked questions, slipping various workers some Yen and tailing a couple of shifty men. All of that led her to a nearby cemetery that seemed too busy to be a normal operation.

Her first thought was to check out the place during the day, posing as a nondescript visitor. That worked right up until she stepped next to a neglected area dominated by a small, open crypt. It was tucked away from most of the rest of the cemetery and was ill-kept. The path to it seemed new however, or at least well-worn. She checked out the small interior and found nothing. As she stepped away from the building however sudden movement stirred around her. The hair on her neck stood up and a cold splash of fear bolted down her spine.
