Description It scanned when I rendered in 3ds Max, but for some reason this Blender Cycles render won't scan for me. It could possibly be my angle. I will have to do some trouble shooting.

It works for me. Q.tk on android, gets me to your DA page instantly. Great concept and rendering. Instant fav. Props.

What's in the QR Code?

AnthonyRalano In reply to ArtyPixi [2013-06-05 19:39:24 +0000 UTC]

It was my Deviant Art link. I made a new one that worked fine I just never posted it because I didn't like the materials.

Very cool idea, shame it doesn't work with this image, maybe overlaying the original QR code would work by losing the shading between the pixels.

I actually made a new one that I never posted. The easiest way would be to make it a .svg or import the image into a font creator program and then assign it a key and extrude as text.

I just love ppl who come up with new ideas, cause many of the abstract stuff these days have a tendency to become really cheap! Its just very creative stuff man, bravo

Very cool, I like this one a lot. What do you mean by "scan"? Do you mean scanline render type? Just wondering what you aren't getting in Cycles?

AnthonyRalano In reply to SintheticMedia [2012-12-22 16:17:48 +0000 UTC]

You can scan it with an android phone or Iphone and it should, in theory, go to my Deviant Art address.

Oh duh....yeah I just tried it with my phone and it doesn't pick it up. How did you make your own and give it a web address?

SintheticMedia In reply to SintheticMedia [2012-12-22 16:23:36 +0000 UTC]

I guess I should have tried before asking, I didn't realize the QR reader app would also generate a QR code...it's early haven't finished my coffee! heh heh

If you google QR Code generator you will find sites that will do this. Either a phone number or a web address. I am trying to set up a render in Max where it will scan but it doesn't look as good as cycles.

that is wicked cool!!!

AnthonyRalano In reply to kuzy62 [2012-12-22 16:16:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Very easy to do. Go to a site that generates a QR code for you, put it in your viewport background for a reference image. Then draw out a box and add segments until they line up with the lines on your image. Then select all of the faces you want deleted front and back and bridge them. You have a 3d QR Code.

Thanks for that!!! How do you think up these things?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnthonyRalano In reply to kuzy62 [2012-12-22 16:30:08 +0000 UTC]

Originally I was going to make seperate boxes for each part, but it wasn't precise enough so I used this method instead. That way each box is the same size and the same distance apart.
