Hilarious, sadly false ;-; I wanted Strange to pull this off
Considering Strange weaponized the mirror world against him and he punched through it like it was nothing, so time stone might not be so useful to do that. AT the same time it runs the risk of dealing with reality stone, soul stone, space stone, and power stone ripping through his defenses.

Unfortunately (at least as my geek mind sees it) since Thanos had a few of the other stones at that point, he could find some kind of work around the Time stone's power to prevent getting stuck in that type of loop in the first place.
However, Doctor Strange not even ATTEMPTING to teleport him to some barren dimension in the middle of nowhere (something he did do in the old "Hulk went Berserk!" storyline in the 1980's), did bug me a bit. It worked on Thanos's buddy, they didn't even try it once on him. Maybe he figured it'd be a waste of time, but they should have at least tried to.

He probably tried it in one of the 14 million timelines he observed in the fight and knew it would fail epically. So he chose not to and get them on the path to victory.
