Hey there everybody
A bit of a flurry of old concepts at the minute!
This concept represents a building site for elevated roads and storm drains, however the area has been attacked briefly before the shot was taken – so there is a collapsed area of road, some craters, damage to the construction of the storm drains and shuttering etc. Set late afternoon and stylised to fit the game style this image uses stark contrast, vivid colours, strong light and shadow and slighting stylised textural feel.

Painted in PS CS3
Wacom Intous 3 tablet
About 9-10 hours painting time - and some researching etc.
I'll get back to drawing spaceships soon

That could fit pretty well into the Fallout universe also. Maybe you should talk with Bethesda Softworks about doing concept art for Fallout: New Vegas.

I actually rather like this (not the spaceships are bad).
The warm tones and the red and green near the fence give an oddly pleasant feeling to a scene that would look depressing or even bland in the usually muted "reality is brown" tones seen in a lot of games and even movies.
Almost makes me feel like someone's managed to make a cozy home despite the destruction.
