These three images were commissioned by a car modification company around 12 months ago. They were engineering a hybrid Subaru Impreza called the “Type-25” which to cut a long story short was a pretty scary car.[link]
What they needed were some marketing images, I suggested that we show the car in different settings and from different angles to show off its dynamic intentions. Rather than fly the car out to different locations around the world, I painted Hyper-real backdrops and gave the car motion from two studio photographs and an action track day shot.
The images were created to fairly limited timescales, taking about 5-6 hours each, which kind of suited the rough, limited brush stroke feel to the backgrounds – the images were all 5k wide (for print purposes).
“TOYKO” - shows the car running down a Japanese high street
“YOKOHAMA” – illustrates the car stretching its legs on the Tokyo to Yokohama highway.
“NEVADA” – Shows the car in a different environment – throwing up dust and dirt at good old sunset.

I hope you feel REALLY proud of these, because they are superbly awesome. I saw a thumb and you cant dcdeny something like this a click, then when you see it, you cant deny it the full pageview, the fav, or the comment that praises the artist. I love the photo realism, and Im sure the guys you did it for ARE really happy, they couldnt have gotten better photos pn location. I just hope that you charged them as much as it would have cost to take a crew, the car, and pay a photographer to do it otherwise.

sorry but icant say anything to this pictures at first i thought these are photorealistic renderings from a 3D-Programm but at the second look i realized that this is drawn i have to say thats amazing the coolest digital painting ever seen congrats

VERY NICE the subaru pics are great well done I wish i could do as good as that as my favourate car is a subaru rally car. i also think your work is TOP QUALITY at its best

Damn hell crap, this kicks so much ass that I can barely describe just how freakin' good this is. Awesome, awesome, awesome, I hope they paid you well for these because they look so amazing. The backdrops are **** good, I'm in total awe of your digital painting talents, while the editing truly makes these pictures look like they're real. Wow... there really is little else to say other than

I just cant muster the words to explain how much i enjoyed viewing this piece. This is the sort of thing that should be on the daily deviation time and time again. I hope you get a DD for this and reap the rewards of it. Great work here

The thing I'm most crazily impressed with is just how well you've integrated the photographs, especially the nevada one, the track pic seems quite a noisy snapshot but you've turned it into quite a masterpiece, and also the feel of movement in the japanese ones. Fabulous work!

Seriously, I'm lost for words. The backgrounds look so realistic that it's near impossible to tell the difference between the car photos and their locations... whatever ranting I proclaim about this line-ups greatness will likely serve no purpose considering the responses you deserve, I'll just fave it and shut up
