Description
A bit of a cheap post I guess, but I thought it would be cool to put up the 8 key images I created for the prototype project all on one page (how they would be seen on a mood board). The images together show the distinction between the Earthy lush areas and the fiery Dungeons beneath. The general feel was very bright colouring and saturation but also a high dramatic feel.All images viewable as seperate posts on my page.
All images are about 3200 pixel (largest diameter)
Images took between 7 and 11 hours each.
All drawn from scratch in Photoshop CS with a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet.

The scene at the top is my favorite. It's just so alive and realistically bright. I'm a really big fan of those colors, too. x)

I'm so impressed! You do really wonderfully with depth and perspectives. And lighting. I especially like the fiery rope bridge one (second from the top, on the left). It sucks you in like a magnet! It's sort of frightening, really. Like falling into a chasm. You want to run away, but you can't escape! It's fantastic. I'm so impressed.

Someone asked where you got the inspiration from.
Well. I'm no psychologist, but I reckon it's something along the lines of -
Frodo + drowning in the marshes
So the first bit's like, the Dagohbah-ness of "under the waves", and then he ends up dying and going to hell (either that or that weird level from Tomb Raider 6 where it's the Hall Of Seasons shizzle and those stupid moving platforms) so he goes "screw this!" and turns back, only to find himself faced by a PARALLEL Hall Of Seasons/Hell (I'm seeing a pattern with these, and the bridges XD), so he walks alongside it and figures he can get across, but the ground disappears so he's all, "whoa, where did the ground go LOL".
Frodo's getting pretty desparate now, but then he hears this voice, and it's Gandalf going "you shall not pass...until you destroy the Ring!"
...and then he wakes up and sees Mt.Doom

That's funny you mentioned that - I designed the Hall of seasons areas in AOD along with another artist friend.

Well, the only flaw with it was the fact that you couldn't climb up the roof bit in my game, but I reckon that was to do with the programmes and not the designers
And yeah, I've gone all impressed now
