A second image for the new 2006 model of the Subaru Hybrid "Type-25" Impreza.This image shows the car moving over a lava and dust ridden environment. I can’t believe how much trouble the colour of the car gave me in getting it to look cool/super-real and still recognisable. Black is an absolute nightmare, even more so if you only take a couple of quick snaps of the car as reference… That being said, I’m quite satisfied with the outcome, the background looks dirty enough without impinging on the car too much. I just wish I could keep a black car that clean!

It'd be a great addition to the magma-red ground if a few oranges were added. The colour composition would work better with the blue of the car, too. That's just a final touch though - the rest is awesome.

Black and metal are always difficult combos to pull off, but you did it passably well. That's still one wall I have to overcome. Mine either turn out looking like blue metal, or solidified shadows.

that's indeed a crappy reference... but still good enough i think. and as we can see even good enough for you. impressive job here my friend... the shading and lighting... especially the red reflections... eyecandy. you dont need 3d render programs when you can draw like that. well done gary.
