Description The hardest thing in such pictures - draw face. Only it can convey a whole bunch of feelings that fill her in that moment. Regret, sadness, care. More likely, maternal care.

Bruce's Wayne/Batman's family in a nutshell: Alfred Pennyworth = the father; Leslie Thompkins ~ the mother; Robin (any version of him, really) = his son(s); Black Bat (Cassandra Cain) and The Huntress (any version of her) = his daughters; Selina Kyle/Catwoman = his wife (now if ONLY he could admit that last part)

p.s. I can't really put Batgirl on the list, seeing how Barbara Gordon already has a father

I agree with you on Batman's family, I'd say Barbara would be a daughter as well, a surrogate daughter since Jim is her dad.

I guess so; the only reason that I'm not fully on-board is that Dick (Nightwing) and Barbara used to date and that sort of makes the prospect a bit like opening a can of worms for me

ABatwhoLovesACat75yr In reply to Mr-Astounding [2015-10-30 02:39:31 +0000 UTC]

Really? Why? Is it because of the whole bat family thing were she's like a sister? Remember she'd be like a step-sister so technically they can still date.

okay, I've finished calming down and found some time to get back to you; anyway, I fully agree that Barbara is close enough to the rest of the bat clan to be considered family, but I'd rather not insert the whole sister thing into the mix, unless of course she gets married to one of Batman's protegees, in which case, sign me up; I guess what I'm TRYING to say is that while I understand that there are numerous ways to be considered family, I'd really appreciate if everyone avoided mixing platonic and romantic relationships; hope that makes sense (and many apologies if anything I said seems a little hypocritical)

I guess I could see the logic in that argument, but I'd rather not have to go into the details of how such a argument would be reason enough ship Damian/Robin with Helena/Huntress, even though in some continuities they are shown to be half-siblings (shivers) I just...I know that love works in mysterious ways, but I REALLY don't want to see the repercussions of a head-canon such as this (shudders) now if you'll excuse me, I need to go grab a blanket and whimper in the fetal position for the next hour or so to get that image out of my head

I understand completely, now you have given me images and I'm trying to not to imagine that. Thanks. The bat family is not platonic, so romance can ensue, the only thing the robins have is that Bruce adopted all of them, not so sure about Jason Todd, but i think Bruce would have, the only members of the family in my mind who would be blood to Bruce would be Damian and Helena for they are his children. And of course Selina would be their mother and Bruce's wife, respectively. Now I know there are those out there who will go to that extreme extent that we are trying to avoid, just do as i do, ignore it and think of better things. Think of bat-cat, always think of bat-cat actually, it seems to help me out just fine.

(shrugs) okay, fair enough... (muses) also, technically speaking Jason Todd was adopted TWICE; the first time was when Bruce caught Jason trying to steel the tires off the Batmobile and Bruce wanted to give the poor kid a better life (that's how he became the second Robin); the SECOND time was when Bruce took him in after he came back from the dead as Red Hood (Joker tortured and killed him, and Ra's al Ghul, who was partially responsible, felt guilty about it so he brought Jason back with the Lazarus Pits): the difference was that THIS time, instead of to provide for him, he was PROTECTING him, albeit from himself; see, Jason never really got over his time with Joker, so he's a bit more violent and has less restraint in the "no guns/no killing" rule that Batman holds up; now, I've heard more then a few complaints about this, but the thing to remember is that Batman's not angry about that: if anything, he's angry at himself for allowing Joker to push one of his partners that far down into the abyss; that said, he doesn't try and bring back "Robin": instead, he tries to keep "Red Hood" from becoming another Joker, and seeing how he hasn't gone and killed a bunch of kids on a playground (no really: I can see Joker doing that), it seems to be working...

I agree, if you think about it, the joker didn't really win then. I sometimes like to think, what would have happened if Bruce, while still in touch with Selina, sent Jason her way to "iron out the kinks" so to speak, especially since both Jason and Selina grew up on the streets.

hmm, I see what you mean, though I'm not sure how well it would work; nothing against Catwoman, but due to his little dip in the Lazarus Pit, Jason sometimes slips into bouts of rage with very little warning beforehand and only a small number of people can calm him down in this state; in fact, to my knowledge, only TWO people have done so without any problems (though keep in mind, I haven't seen him interact with Selina Kyle yet): Barbara Gordon: as the one of the few others who've been scarred by the Joker (what with the whole paralysis thing), Jason can't bring himself to be angry at her, even in his worst states; Alfred Pennyworth: yeah, the Lazarus Pits didn't make him THAT crazy to want to talk back to the only other Bat Clan member who's willing to use a gun (no really, I've seen him use a shotgun on more then one occasion), and besides, how can you stay mad at the one guy who can face down the Bat Glare without flinching?

Good point. Also keep in mind Selina is another person unaffected by the bat glare, so i think she could handle Jason.

Whether someone is into comics or not, I think these two images are perfect for showing a girl/woman the heart of a man that has been through a lot. When I look at this, I wonder if a girl were to actually see a guy's heart like this, would she able to put it back together and make it whole, or only be able to look after and take care of whats left of it. This is really powerful man; good job.

You did a wonderful job on her face! It's her eyes that show her compassion and sadness best.
And I love the fact she took off her gloves to handle his heart. Can't wait for part 3.
