I don't necessarily have a massive fear of spiders, but what I definitely don't like it mass insects--swarms of flies, ants, etc.

We stumbled across this bridge that was built over a lake, all pretty and scenic. At the center, there's a light and I suppose under the right circumstances it's quite romantic.

I decided to take a picture and I went to rest my camera against a post on the bridge to keep it steady, and I felt my arm go into a web, so I freaked and brushed it off and all.

Well when we got to the center of the bridge, by the light, we discovered that every possible opening in the bridge was filled with a spider web, and each web had a spider in it. these spiders ranged in size from about a nickel to a silver dollar, and there were LOTS and LOTS of them. Very gross.

I wanted to get a picture of one of the webs but the lighting was inadequate, so I had to use flash to get the whole thing. I edited the image in psp -- cropping, contrast, and smoothing.
