Description
Hi! This is the Heavynsdown Slums - the bottom part of a giant futuristic city. A perfect place for criminals, bums, strange creatures and diseases. The place is full of industrial buildings, factories and power stations and most of the services here are illegal. The air is polluted, the water is poisoned, even the buildings are damp and dirty.Commission for The-Verpardess
Definitely, Blade Runner is an inspiration =]
I hope you will find it interesting, have a nice day!

Strange how I never noticed this piece before!? I have to say though, it is amazing!! It really gives me that genuine 80's sci-fi vibe I adore. Great job, as always

This looks like such a great concept art for a futuristic city. I definitely see the Bade Runner inspiration.

It looks impressive, and at the same time, hostile, as it generates certain uncertainty to enter that city. It gives me the sensation of coldness ... as well explained in the description. A sublime job!

Nice, really really nice. I can see you are improving more and more in landscape painting. I really like the direction you go with your paintings.
Did you used some textures here? - or everything hand-painted?
Have a nice evening!

Crazy cool stuff! The sense of depth (both in terms of the painting and in terms of it being the base of a city, haha) is super strong.

Oh man I still can't get over how damn epic this came out to be! this would definitely be a Horian hang-out for sure! (Ironically, it's probably better for them living here than on their own home planet!) but yeah, this is the result of the city/planet becoming too overpopulated. Would be near impossible to control the criminal activities here! So they just go "out of sight, out of mind" in this place
Anyhow, the heavily industrial area here works well for this planet, where illegal weapons, vehicles and more can be manufactured for those seeking them. Not to mention, the huge amount of resources they can gather at a place like this. I can see why some people would think this place wouldn't work with all the chaos going on, it's just a fictional world so I never intended it to be 100% scientifically accurate ^^ it's all just for good fun and fiction!
Anyways, I really do admire all the effort you put into this piece, it's just astounding! I find cityscapes hellish to make, but you really pull it off so damn well. The detail is just incredible. Can't wait until the day I can work more with this environment in my story universe. Thank you so much again for helping build up another location! This was totally worth the wait ^^

All mushrooms that should have been here are going to appear on the next personal picture. Then I will do some commission sketches and come back to you to start working on the next cityscape. I have a few ideas for it already

I like the concept, but there is no need for pollution and so on. Thin about it - building a city on crap, your foundation won't last long.
For me cyberpunk must not mean everything is down the toilett .

Thanks! This has an explanation. The city is very, very tall - the highest levels reach over the clouds. Bottom part is where the poorest people live. This place has a lot of factories and industry buildings, so it becomes polluted naturally. Most importantly, this is just a part of the commission description

Depends on technique available, it must not turn everything dirty, depends also heavily on the industry. ;Tinking about it, I am not sure if it's wise to build your city on top of industry, but who knows where the city is (space & under a sphere).
Sure it is just description ^^ - somehow a lot of people apparently connect CP with dirt and pollution. I think poverty is worse enough. I have the slums in South Africa in mind or favelas in Brasil.
Still, I like the concept . Would be something I could use as background for my sci-fy story e.g. for blue city .

Ah, so it's sort of like the hive cities found in the Warhammer 40k universe...just without the space marines and grimdark.

I don't know much about Warhammer, but I googled the hive city. Looks like an anthill Yes, it has some similarities I guess.
