Holy cow... that's really impressive. I keep finding that I've got so much work to do to make my textures good enough; works like this really help inspire me!

Thanks so much Oki <3
Sometimes I find it hard to do art, sometimes I feel like playing some games or reading, but I find after a day of relaxing my urge to make art increases ^^

No problem!
Haha, yeah. I've got a pretty busy art schedule, but I try to leave myself a few days here and there to relax. I usually end up drawing those days anyway.

i absolutely love this. how on earth did you do the wings? are those hidden polygons? i love the fluidity of the feathers. amazing.
i was looking back at the sketch and kind of feel that the feather mohawk has lost its edge hear. i though it really made the snake charming the way you had drawn it. also the face seems to get a little lost in comparison to the sketch. also i think that if you posed him on the ground you could play more with a plumper tummy like in the drawing to give him more character and it would show his versatility wings spread while traveling in the sand.
looking forward to seein this one finalized

Oh thanks beet! The wings are done as a U shape then with a plane in the middle. Its to give them a bit of thickness. Using an alpha mask I am able to make some of it transparent
Yeah the sketch is all like cute and this guy is all like "gimmie your sammiches nao!" I need to play around with the crest a bit more in the alpha. I will definitely make him plumper though, and do a pose of him on the ground xD

REALLY like the feather detail in this! The way you painted it makes it look soft to the touch, so great job thus far

The wings are absolutely fantastic. With the texture'd style and the colouring, they look phenomenal.
From a predatory/evolution stand point, I'd say the wings should start a little lower on the body so that the structure still gives the winged snake the ability to re-position its head. As it is, it seems a little like the hunched snake of Notre-Dame/ The colours are vibrant and they really attract attention.
So far though, it looks truly inspiring.

Oh cheers kiljax! hahah hunched snake of notre dame! I thought about doing it the ye old winged snake physique but I felt like something different. Its supposed to look like his cobra neck grew into some wings but then I made his wings enormous cause I just love big wings xD
