Description
It was probably the milllionth time Eliane had read the letter. The letter that contained the true feelings her old nookmate Azel had towards her. Eliane received the letter back in February, around HeartKindle. It was appropriate, she guessed, to send the letter when everyone is drunk with the fluffy feelings of the season, but unfortunately, Eliane always managed to remain out of that particular loop. Warm fuzzies never held much in her eyes, but now, holding the colorful paper in one hand and a frost lily in the other, she realized the power those feelings could have over someone. They could give Wyngro the courage to pour their hearts and souls to one another in hopeful bliss. That was precisely what Eliane had to deal with right now. But what do you write to someone who put everything they had into a single letter. How do you tell someone who confesses their love for you...that you don’t feel the same? She didn’t dislike Azel by any means, the memories she had of him, albeit few, were recalled with fondness and a smile. But it was never romantic. Azel was just a friend to her, and she always thought the feeling was mutual. When she first got the letter, she couldn’t bring herself to respond. It felt wrong to turn down her friend in such a way and so she left the letter as it was. For months it nagged at her, and she even considered simply saying she liked him in return to avoid hurting his feelings. But this idea was quickly shot down becuase it would be cruel to toy with his feelings like that. But Eliane realized she couldn’t leave him hanging on, that was just as horrible.
With a deep sigh and troubled heart she grabbed a stock of cards and began to write. “I’ll just tell him the truth.” she concluded, “it is better that he knows than just leaving him holding onto something that wasn’t there.”
But she decided words wern’t enough. Eliane wanted to show she understood Azel’s feelings, and show her gratitude. He had given her a frost lily, and the beautiful heart gem necklace she wore everywhere. Azel needed something just as special from her.
Eliane looked around her room, she didn’t have much, and anything of value was even less. She eyed a small box on the corner of her nightstand, it held the remains of her old ear tie. It was the one thing she held very dearly to her heart. But it wasn’t much more than a few broken pieces and tattered feathers...not much of a gift if you asked her. Unless...
Eliane grabbed a piece of paper and a fresh quill and began sketching a few designs. “Perhaps one piece could be put with a feather that was still in somewhat good condition....and oh yes! That would be nice or—Oh or this!” Eliane mumbled excitedly to herself. She held the up paper in her hands, carful not to smudge the still wet ink as she scanned over the final design. With a small nod of approval, she blew out her candle, which had shrunk half it’s size since she started. Getting into bed she made up her mind to see Gulch tomorrow to get her design finalized. She knew no trinket could replace genuine affection, but she hoped Azel would understand.

man, I didn’t realize just how much I missed drawing baby Eliane! She’s never been good with feelings, she sees things logically rather than emotionally.
Eliane belongs to me
Azel belongs to MarexDev
