Description Flip. Flip. Flip.

Vito took a deep breath of the crisp spring air as the sound of pages flipping calmed him mind. The maroon colored Draken sitting next to him—Lizaveta, she said her name was—seemed very interested in whatever her latest book was about, judging by how quickly Vito heard her turn the page. He couldn’t help but be a little curious. He wasn’t much of a reader himself, at least not to the extent his friend was, but it did make him smile when Lizaveta shared some of her adventures with him. Some days she’s be enraptured by deep mysteries with twists and turns at every corner, other days she’d be soaking up as much history as Tobias could document. No matter what story or tale or folklore Liz managed to bring when they met at their little hangout—A large oak tree just outside the Spring Leaf House—Vito was always there to lend an ear. He was sure it was a mystery novel she was reading now though it was hard to remember since it had been a while since the last time they met, but the bits she read aloud to him helped to jog him memory. The colder temperatures that come along with the changing seasons made their visits scarce, but now with Spring beginning to show through all the gloom and gray, it was a little more bearable to be outside. Sure, the snow that still lingered soaked cold into his fur, but Vito wasn’t one to complain. “It’s much more peaceful out here anyways,” he thought, remembering how loud the house could get at times.

Flip. Flip. Flip. Pause—

“Oh?” Vito rolled his head to the side and lazily opened one eye. “Something interesting happen?”

Lizaveta nodded but didn’t look up from her book. “You know how I was telling you that Madame Pelager seemed like a sketchy character?”

“Madame Pelager...” Vito wracked his brain in an attempt to put a name to the face. “Was she the lady in the beginning of the story with the gaudy hat?”

“Uh huh, the one with all the feathers and gemstones on it.”

“Was she the master thief?”

 “She was the master thief.”

“I totally called it.” Vito smirked.

“And get this,” Lizaveta said, turning the page, “apparently all those gemstones were stolen jewelry from each of the places she hit, and she wore them right out in the open this whole time.” Lizaveta shook her head, “I feel like I should’ve seen that coming. All of the targets were people of some high nobility, so it’d make sense why her hat seemed to get shinier with every robbery.” She chuckled.

“What did I tell you,” Vito said raising his chin a little, “Anyone with that bad of a fashion sense has to have some sort of hidden agenda.” Lizaveta laughed and returned to her book. Just like that their conversation had ended but for Vito they might as well have talked for hours. While the length of the silence far exceeded that of their talks, it was a comfortable sort of quiet. One that was easily broken at their leisure. It was enough for him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he listened for the sound of flipping pages once more. Vito loved the peacefulness of it all. He could’ve stayed like this forever.

This is so wholesome <3

And I like how you used the bg to make them look sort of isolated, like they're in their own peaceful little world

I live for their chill friendship. :0 I didn’t even think of that when doing the background, I just didn’t want to fill the whole canvas lol. That’s a really good insight
