Thank you for your question. I just my normal eyesight, no microscope or magnifying glass and a very steady hand, especially for these little fellas. If they end up being dropped on the floor chances are I might not find them again. So sneezing, coughing and spluttering is out of the question. Unfortunately feathers have a habit of making me sneeze so... haha.

This is incredible! How are you able to do stuff on this scale with so many details?

Thank you! I am actually planning on doing some stop motion animation at some point!

Stop go animation is brilliant. I had try at it using a teddy bear with photography but not actual filming. I'm trying to make posable joints for 1:12th figures I think it would be great to make them move but it is so fiddly too... practically a nightmare. The best stop go artist I have ever seen is Jan Svankmejer, this is a clip from one of this films www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5Of_U… you might like his style.

I love Jan Svankmejer! His work is literally unbelievable! One must have immense
patience to do anything close to what he does. I guess anyone doing stop motion
animation has to be pretty patient haha. I have to invest in some computer programs
that will make it easier for me, but I am pretty sure I will do it

That would be so hard to make something that small posable! I know the trick for something
3 times the size but that won't work for you. Good luck! I hope you can figure it all out

Oh I am glad that you like his work, he is amazing. One can only imagine the amount of hours he puts into his  films. I am sure you will be able to do animation. If you have a deep passion for something  I think that is as important as the technical side if not more so... as it is what drives you. Good luck with it. It will be great to see what you come up with

Yeah I have found that it's fun to take time doing tedious details a lot of the time
as I am sure you know! Improving my craft and taking time in every aspect of the
process is very rewarding. I hope I find animation just as stimulating!

The small details are the best part about sculpting for me. Your attention to detail is obviously paying off because your work looks amazing and unique. I have seen a lot of art dolls and I  can tell which ones are yours because you have developed your own style. I look forward to seeing what you make next!
