Description
Still struggling with that freaky new upload system...This photo was taken at a small waterfall near my town... and I had to remove a road right behind it.
This is also the current status of my Elven armor.

I absolutely love your armor! You've made me want to try working with scale for my own armor.
I have to ask, how did you put together the pieces, or where did you get the patterns, for creating all of that awesome? Are the leg pieces separate or attached?

Thanks.
The Scales are are connected via chain mail rings. They are Ringlord Scales.
I've made the patterns by myself. And Shirt and Skirt are separate and can be worn desperately.

Absolutely beautiful, you did some great work! I am awed.
Which Ring Lord scales did you use, steel or aluminum?

I also have a question, but its not about your fine armor but about your foot wear.
I have been trying to find or make a good pair of shoes/boots for use in larp and I have had some success with my experiments but I am still not satisfied. Good foot wear is a must have for those of use who wear armor and I was wondering where you got yours or if you made it yourself?

Those are "Loints" Boots, called "Lore".
The shoe Issue is easier for women to solve, since you often find fitting boots in normal stores.

Sigh... I know, its irritating how easy women have it for larp footwear. On top of that I have short really wide feet so I can't really find even normal shoes very easily.
Thanks for the makers info, I will take a look at their selection of male shoes.

Great looking character! Great outfit!
I plan to make a similar set. And have a few questions:
1. How much is the weight of the armor?
2. Where I can buy similar gorget and shoulders?

Hi, thank you.
The weight should be about 10 kg, but I have not weighted it yet.
The shoulders and gorget are made by Michl Wimmer, who makes the most beautiful Fantasy armor.
His Page is in German, but you can also contact him in English:

Oh! Thank you! I saw his items on many larp-convent photos.
Just curious. How many scales and fastening rings consists such armor?

Anylon In reply to Fantasy-Craft [2013-01-24 14:52:12 +0000 UTC]
about 13.000 scales and 26.000 rings in total...
