Description
"I wasn't there when a thin line destroyed your soul" from Lacuna Coil's "Within me"When I heard that line, I instantly thought of Kevin and Gwen and how she must be suffering at seeing him dangerously psychotic.
The previous submission of this drawing was unfinished. I figured that most people would prefer the picture without the funky lighting, but the holding cell was meant to look like this.
(repeated from the other entry)
I like to think this is prior to Kevin 11,000 but after the episode "Ben 10,000". I think this would be before Kevin was put back into the Null Void. He's currently in a holding cell at Ben's headquarters, and Gwen has sneaked in to see him.
If you know the inspiration for Kevin's hair, kudos to you.
The bit in his mouth was blantantly inspired by Riddick's restraints in Pitch Black, as was how Kevin has been "chained" up. Those are energy cuffs he's wearing (a sort of nod to the Alien Force show) just because Kevin can't break out of them (absorption powers or not).
Yeah, the chair that he's sitting on is cock-eyed. But, I was too lazy to fix the side closest to the front because it would have required redoing all of it. Other that the fact that he's almost slid off of the chair, I liked the thing. It tapers off at the bottoms until it gets to the "feet," which are bolted to the floor. At the feet of the chair are cuffs that come from inside of it and lock the prisoner's ankles. Very sturdy, very useful, but not so nice to look at.
The arch behind Kevin is there to serve as the backrest of the chair as well as being a continuous form, bolted down to the floor on both ends, so the prisoner cannot free him/herself.
The green panel on the back does various things, such as mess with the prisoner's moods in order to get them to confess to crimes, etc. Above the panel is another that houses a camera. That also begs one to question why Gwen is being so tender to Kevin while under supervision... unless she knocked the surveilance out first. She wouldn't really need to use her powers, just a little computer know-how.
Used images of Galadriel Stineman and Nathan Keyes. They were the actors who played Gwen and Kevin in Alien Swarm, the live action movie.

Both this and V1 are awesome, and this one looks really cool, cause of the lighting effects. BAH! Can't decide which one I like better!

Gosh I feel biased, because both versions are awesome. But I love the green tint here. Somehow, tinting things green or blue feel creepier to me.
You have every right to be proud of this one.
(Hurray for cock eyed chairs?)

Thanks, again. I'm still stoked you like this version.
HAHA. You always make me feel better about my lack of construction skills. You appreciated the fugly chair, too.
I should lie and say that Gwen wasn't sure if she was going to go through and actually get within reaching distance, so he twisted around on the chair to face her.
Chair or not, I really am proud of this piece. It's nice to have one I'm happy with after my plush doll I'd worked so hard on for the last three days ended up being a wash. Plus, I've been wanting to get to this drawing since Wednesday but never sat down long enough to work on it.
