Description
Once contested between the United Federation and the Secessionist Grand Republic, Divar was to end their cold war.Rich in resources, Divar's two continents were colonized and mined for decades. Without forests to dot the landscape, strip mines began to cover the planet, extracting metals and salts. Titanium was Divar's primary export.
Towards the closing of CY-1067, the Republic's 32nd Battlegroup and the Federation's 8th Assault Fleet entered orbit after tensions stretched to the breaking point. Both sides were willing to come to a compromise and withdraw military forces, but struggled to find common ground. During the debates, a third fleet, of unknown origin, entered the system.
The new fleet opened fire on both human factions, tearing apart escorts and hammering capital ships. In an unspoken union, both fleets turned and opened fire with their magnetic accelerators, punching holes in the unknowns' warships. Their efforts would not be enough, however, as a ground invasion had already begun.
The ensuing space battle would be brief; despite overwhelming numbers from the unknown fleet, both human fleets out-ranged their enemy. Ferric slugs tore apart critical systems, while artillery fire mopped up the rest. Once the fleet was broken, the counter-attack on the surface was launched.
Officially known as The Last Battle, the ensuing conflict would be the final between Federation and Republic forces; the two sworn enemies stood side-by-side, brothers in arms, for the first time. The battle also marked the beginning of the Divar Campaign, the first chapter of the Imperium-Concord War.
Two months later, the unknown forces, then known as the Amari Imperium, would return and finally conquer the planet.
