Entry for ~ShadowSaber 's contest.

This was the funnest art contest I've entered yet, not just because it's related to Dragon Drive (one of my most favorite anime series ever), but because it involved a lot of creativity and self-representation. While I've created a few original dragons based on the series, I never entertained the thought of what my dragon would be. So after a little self-examination, I whipped this guy up.

I made 'im summat of a dracogriff, though I kept the crocodilian-esque snout over a beak-like one out of personal preference. LOTS OF SCI-F STUFF. (Didn't give him as many wires/cords wrapping around him as I originally wanted to.) Black-and-white striped color scheme to compliment the dragon/feline, mechanical/organic, and other oddities that represent my own dual/contradictive nature. I also wanted to give him some weird Guyver/Generator Gawl-esque transformation form, but couldn't get around to drawing it due to time constraints, and besides, he's all nice and mecha-y anyways. P=

I colored this in Photoshop 7 on my dad's laptop, since my computer went splat and I found the USB ports on the laptop to scan the line art and use my tablet anyways. First time using both, and I was able to breeze by it well while lying down and binging on anime DVDs. FUN TIMES. I need to work on a CG like this again, though figure out a way to do it without getting a crick in my back. x_x
