I'm somewhat reminded of the Eidelweiss, and other tanks from Valkyria Chronicles. Which is a good thing, that game had awesome designs, lots of Russian/German fusion tanks.

Ha! it's like ifΒ a B1 got a Space Marine paintjob. I wonder what they would say if you tried to use something like this in a game of 40k

The B1 bis tank, not very good? Well, the tank comander has to serve the 47 mm AT gun (and the coaxial MGs) all by himself, true. And the hull gun was pointed, aimed, and fired by the pilot, and not by the front gunner (it should have been like that. Much more sensed.)
Ok, it had some flaws. But his armor, man ... frontal: 60 mm. The best the Germans could field, at the beginning of WW2, was 30 mm.
And the 47 mm AT could destroy any armoured vehicle fielded by the Germans in the campaign of 1940 in one shot. (Not that it was absolutely always the case, of course.)
Now, of course, if the French had started to modify it earlier ... things would have been much different, most likely.

Well there were a lot of flaws with it like not enough in numbers, too slow, was destroyed by the 8,8cm AA/AT gun, also because of the German Blitzkrieg Strategy which was to encircle heavier tanks and destroy them which is what made them victorious in the battle for France or in any battle actually until 1942 when stuff like that almost entirely stopped!

Ah, I see that we have common taste in tanks .
By the way, it looks like it has reversed tracks. WWI-era (I'd count Char B1 as a product of the WWI mentality) tanks had front track raised to help trench crossing.

Don't worry to explain.
It was totally ok to have ineffective mass prodused rivet-buckets instead of modern tanks for quite a large period of XX century Β military history.Β
In early 1930ies army leaders had quite a strange ideas about tanks actual use and possible combat situations. So, I could bet on your fiction armies having a papers thick enough to whack a dog breathless, with said papers describing special mountain or cavalry light tankettes to act as mobile recon and escort for artillery and infantry support tanks. In the worst case they had them already produced.
Mass-produced.
Which is quite a fine idiocy, but unprovable without a war large enough to collect experimental data.
So they have to start a war as it is and then rush for anything good enough to work on battlefield and simple enough to be mass produced - which is quite an interesting problem by itself.

Awesome! Your tank designs are as much fun as your aviation concepts. Love the color palette and decals. Definitely feels like its from an alternate world.Β
Reminds me a bit of the French B-1 bis w/ the large hull cannon and the side armor.Β

In my setting their culture is similar to East Asia so I put some chinese writing taste on it.
As you indicate, there is some arabic taste writing too. They have several kinds of writing like Japanese.
Actually we use 3 types of letters in our life.
Thanks for paying attention to detail!

As many people does, reading manga or watching anime for just fun will be nice study of Japanese!
In my case to study English I watch some anime with English subtitles that gives me much way of expression in the language.

My normal language is german (Austrian), i learned englisch since school and started japanese 2 and a half year ago.
To practice me englisch, i like to watch various Disney and Dreamworks movies in englisch, as well as Avatar the last Airbender.
I watch Anime since i can get a hold of them, but they are only available commonly since just about 14-15 years.

My impression was, that the origin was the T-28 with re-designed front wheel. Well, most of those early tanks are look-alike, any way. Great work!

Nope, dude, that's french absinthe at it's finest =8-Πͺ
T-28 basically inspired by british tank school and quite different on basic design level.

SquallTemnov In reply to Mhvost [2014-07-11 16:09:19 +0000 UTC]
Well, the turret position and long rear section that houses the engine looks exactly like T-28. Tracks, I admit, looks like some mix of british and french design.
