Listracian asked me to draw the children dirty and maybe to do horses dirty as well. Khem, I failed with the second issue... It was better for horses, to have only a bit dirty feathering (yup dirt is nearly invisible on the black horse I know XP). Sorry, Listracian, I hope you'll like it anyway

That's just stunning. It brings to mind half a dozen different stories. I think both pieces are wonderful...the sepia toned one makes it feel more like the scene is memory and this one has the feel of an illustration in a fancy children's book.
The ruddiness of the children and the bit of dirt really do just complete the scene.
I think I'll got back to admiring and imagining now, hehehe.

Wonderful work, it is a very cute scene. That little girl on that big horse is so adorable...she can´t even reach the stirrup! I like this version much more than the brownish one, maybe because contrasts here are very interesting and it feels like if they were entering the cloud

At the beginning I felt like I was sketching an illustration for a book - that it's delicately fading into white. It looked a bit better in sketch though...

eh it was recent summers my child hood was eh and horseless until I was old enough to ride 13miles to the nearest ranch but now I do have great memories!! but then I grew up too now they get smaller and smaller! but yes beautiful art!!

I have no idea why the firs thing I thought of when I saw this was Sam from LOTR, but I did. What? I don't know, there is no connection whatsoever, except maybe red curly hair.
I personally got a feeling that the kids were fairly unwashed even without there being obvious dirt all over them. Just the subtleties, i guess. Those manes and tails are om nomable, too.
Someday, when I have more money, and when they are open again, I am going to steal a commission spot from you. Even if I have to ninja my way there.
