official reference for my new character - I must say that I love her design ^.^ I wanted to create red OC even when I was designing Iskra, but she had to wait till today to be finished

I started the main drawing of this picture really a lot of time ago, about two months maybe. Now I only have to create a reference for Cirdan, her twin brother =]


Karthala is a name of the active volcano on the Comoros. I simply like how the name sounds, but from the other hand we may think that it's a name chosen for her by her Father, a freak about fire and volcanoes

Thank you very much ^^ As you see she is not a pure bleed Solven, so her features are a bit different. If you want you're free to create your own solven, or half solven - there is a reference for this breed in mine gallery somewhere

Yeah, I actually printed that out so I could create my own! I have actually already started on a design, and I am trying to make one that is half as good as one of yours!

I noticed that she is not full breed, although she does look part arabian, which is what you said that most Solvens look like. She is a VERY pretty character, hun!

Solven are a delicate build horses, I'm using Arabians as references for them ^^

Curly hair? They only seem to be hard, you just need to learn what is necessary to paint to create the feeling that hair are curved I'm glad that you like
