Looks good, but the board might be a bit too reflective, and it's not really "neverending", since you can see where it ends. You might wanna extend it out a bit more, then taper it so it until the black and white pieces come together at the far end.

Personally I think it needs just a *little* bit of colour in it. Just some colour to highlight the pieces. Perhaps a tint on the white pieces. Something. I just feel it looks a bit drab currently.

This is a really nice render, especially with such contrast and smooth textures. As someone stated earlier, it has a nice Alice in Wonderland type of fantasy feel to it.

Given any thought to doing a longer version of this? Ie: 2048 by 768, or more? I'm sure there are a few people who'd love to see how this'd look on a Dual Monitor setup.. black on one monitor, white on another..
