STEP ONE
Make a post to your DA journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("all I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your DA or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- do it.
You need not spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Give, and you might receive. and you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist
- 1) I've always wanted a cool picture for my "About" section in my profile here. If someone was willing to do that, that would be awesome! You could either note me for some photos or just draw whatever you think would fit my personality? (I like cute and fluffy things, Tom Hiddleston, Star Wars, MLP and chocolate!) The style doesn't really matter. Chibis are awesome, pixel art is awesome, everything else is also awesome!
- 2) Okay, this isn't a wish for myself but I've noticed that I really like helping people with their art. So if you're stuck somewhere in a piece and you need an advice, feel free to note me anytime and I'll take a look at it. Basically, don't ever be afraid to ask!
- 3) Any kind of art anyone is willing to make for me. Even if you think it is crappy, I will be eternally grateful if you draw something for me! Being gifted a drawing/painting/art in general is the greatest thing in the world!
- 4) Fanfiction! I don't often read it but when I do, I'll be glued to my computer for hours. If you've read or maybe even written something that you think I might like, send me a link? (I like -LOVE- Loki, the Avengers in general and especially the Captain, Sons of Anarchy, Jared Leto, Pacific Rim, Hannibal, Star Wars and many more!)
- 5) Other fan stuff of the above: Art, Prints, merchandise you don't want/need anymore, I'll gladly take it! I have a collection of small and sometimes not so small action figures, figurines and everything Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, MLP and I love to watch that collection grow. (If you want to send me anything, note me for the address)
- 6) Do something nice for someone you like! Tell the people you love (friends, family...), how much they mean to you! The last year has shown me how important this is and just how fragile our lives are.
- 7) Don't forget to also think of yourself every once in a while. ( :
- 8) Plushies? I love plushies! I've always wanted to have a cute little amigurumi... (Again, note me for the address? ^^)
- 9) Gloves! I've lost mine and my hands are always cold. : (
