Before Rodan appeared in in 1991 it was assumed that most monsters were simple animals, only coming above ground for food or to claim territory for themselves. The reason Rodan attacks humanity is simply for the thrill of it. It’s been a long time since he’s been able to stretch his wings after all.

Rodan first appeared from beneath Aso Caldera on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Exactly how long he’s been down there or how he even ended up in there is unknown. It’s only known that he’s been down there for a very long time.

Powers and abilities:
• Supersonic flight at Mach 3. He is also very maneuverable in the air, often snatching jets right out of the sky.
• Incredibly destructive shockwaves and sonic booms. Can destroy cities just by flying over them.
• Superheated Magma System run through body instead of blood.
• Numerous organic jets located underneath his chest armor aid in flight. Can be used to quickly dodge or gain altitude. Can also be used offensively to burn enemies.
• “Jet Flame” from mouth. Starts off as a beam of super-heated air before igniting into a short range, super-heated flame. Capable of burning even the toughest of monster armor.
• Armored body is covered in ash and volcanic sediments, making Rodan incredibly durable, even in the air.
• Aside from standard tooth and talon attacks, Rodan’s fourth finger (the wing finger) features many sharp, metal infused blades on the front. Can slice through buildings and severely injure other monsters at full speed.
• Immune to high temperatures.
• Needs heat to perform at full capacity. After freeing himself from Mount Aso and fighting [REDACTED] he has been observed nesting at numerous volcanic areas along the Ring of Fire to regain energy.

This Rodan is pretty much just an updated version of the Rodan I drew last year, just with a few design tweaks taken from the old G-Redesigned Rodan, like the small brow horns and the black eyes.
