Description
I did some new post processing on this photograph. The older version is a bit colourless and lacks of contrast. Here it is for comparison: [link]Thanks to Martin "struller" Amm for giving advice on post processing methods!
Have a look at the old one and tell me what you think about the post processing.

20/04/2009 - I'd like to thank all of you very much for all your great comments and favs. Never thought to get a DD at all. Thanks a lot for picking this one.
Best regards

I took it in central Iceland last year during a trek. It's definitively the most beautiful country I know.

I was on a trekking through the highland of Iceland and crossed a small hill and then I saw this spectacular view. It was an overwhelming moment.

This version is definitely clearer and sharper.
SUCH a wonderful photo! You are so lucky to have seen that. Tho, I definitely like the right side better than the left, it's just brighter.
I blame the cloud.

It was smart to re-create this picture. The landscape looks incredible, and so does the rainbow. Now hurry and get the gold and the other end.

Amazing shot! There is just so much rainbow there - I can just see the double rainbow. The landscape is very interesting too, and the sky is so varied and full of character.

Beautiful capture of a unique natural event in its fullest. You seem to have been placed at the most opportune location in nature to capture this rainbow. Gorgeous variation in terrain, spectrum, weather. Such interesting meteorology evinced visually (study of weather)!
I also approve of the post-process editing for this deviation. I think if used within reason and with familiarity of technique and skill, the finalized image can capture what the photographer's eye saw without the mechanical/digital limitations of the camera. Alternately it is good to calibrate our own artistic selves/muses to interact with our tools (um, in this case, camera), but being able to project our vision is a very important thing as well.
Congratulations on the Daily Deviation, it looks like you travelled to a very remote place to obtain this unique marvel of nature; your hard work has been well rewarded through the evincement and keen-ness of your art-photography alone.

This is the part where you drop the camera and run like hell to both ends of the rainbow to get two treasures in one shot! Wooo! Tax free gold, baby! LOL! a most majestic and amazing shot of this natural phenomenon! Excellent work and congratulations on the DD!

The photo itself is incredible and well deserving a DD -
I like the new PP too, you put unsharp mask to very good use and the slightly oversaturated colors just fit in perfectly

It was taken during my highland trek through central Iceland last year. In the background is the biggest glacier of Europe, VatnajΓΆkull.
