At first this pixel has a 3D look to it. If you went for that style, keep it! Definitely worth keeping that. The left legs really capture that three-dimensional feeling. The right ones however, don't have the same effect :[ It's probably the lighsource that makes it harder.

I'd say, keep it simple. :]
The harsh lighsource shows you that you have a big contrast. So try to play with 2 colours only, and add your other colours fro anti aliasing. The left legs are fantastic because they have nice a-a. The right ones seem to have a bit of a gradient, so keep it more simple.

The body could need more highlights on the dark side, but that's just details.
