i still cant get any part of this to look nice except for the amber, that was the relatively easy part. any suggestions?please post a comment letting me know how i could fix it! lol

I love the concept. I was inspired when I saw this and envisioned it to be a trap-door spider. As for the leg issue design it so the 4 back legs are made out of amber and fold up into the bottom of the abdomen. The back legs should be long and the front legs thick for digging. The name defiantly needs work however don't use amber as apart of the name. Possibly try "resin" it is close to amber and it might be easier to incorporate. Ether way good luck!

I was thinking that since it would be made of amber it would be the amber pokemon as in "species" not name. That is why I mentioned resin as it can be an alternative splice for the name due to amber being able to be classified as a resin. Though I must admit coming up with another witty name that fits will be hard. As for the "amber stalagtite legs" that is what I was going for mentioning the back four legs being amber encased (or all amber. You mentioned that 8 legs made it looked cluttered which is why I also said then could fold around the back part. It would make it so half the spider would be mostly amber and the front would be rock spider. With your permission I can do a free mock up for you and send it your way.

I agree with others, I think it looks good. Are you purposely giving it four legs? I guess the play on the name "arachnid" implies eight. But it still looks good as is

I think this looks really good, I don't know why you don't think it does.
The only thing I would suggest is adding a little bit of light on its forehead maybe, off the top of my head I think that's what they do for the official Pokemon sprites.

Actually, it looks quite impressive to me, and it is very original, nice work. I do spritework too, but mine is more of splicing and recoloring..though I do try and create parts myself when I don't find what I'm looking for.
