My TWD story in order!!
The twins find themselves caught out in some unpleasant weather, safe to say neither of them are all too happy about it either.
Previous: TWD - When the Chips are Down
Story
Having survived the first stages of the trail and taken both the train and boat ride to the final leg of the journey with very little mishaps along the way the twins felt pretty confident the last phase should be just as smooth sailing. Even if their choice of steeds was of concern for Krasimir whom was very reluctant to have added these two steeds to their teams, and had been actively voicing those concerns during the majority of their train and boat ride - and certainly wasn't through with his complaining. By this point Zaaria was well and truly fed up with the constant whining coming from her brother's lips, trying to ignore it however didn't seem to have the desired affect instead he just continued. Before setting off along the trail Krasir was sure to try and make sure his steeds appaloosa markings were well hidden underneath the thermal blanket before he mounted up ready to set off along the trail. This was not something Zaaria could have gotten away with, what with her mares much more extensively spotted pelt, however she did not care to be seen on such a steed, from what Zaaria had experienced with meeting the mare prior to coming out to the trail the mare had a fantastic temperament and showed some real potential, to Zaaria that was worth more than discounting the mare purely due to her pelt.
"About what you said back on the boat..." Kras started as the pair headed off along the trail "..the bit about 'handling it' if dad found out about this..." he continued pausing to shoot her a quizzical look "What did you mean by that?... You never elaborated upon it before...". He had noted back on the boat how it had seemed like she had deliberately avoided that question before, and it had been playing on his mind ever since, what did she have in mind for dealing with such a situation, had she already considered the possibility of being found out or was she betting on it? He couldn't quite decipher which option it could have been. Zaaria kept her head pointed forward as she flashed him a side-eyed glance an ever so subtly more stern look on her face as she then rolled her eyes with a sigh before fixing her gaze forwards again.
"Does it really matter?" she stated blandly her gaze not shifting from the trail before them, her shoulders having ever so subtly tensed. "All that should concern you is that you shall be spared the majority of the scolding..." she added her eyes flicking towards him for a second before going back to the trail. Kras was a little taken aback by her response what could she possibly mean by that, how would he get less of an earful over this when he was also a top a spotted steed, he pondered her words for a moment trying to make sense of what she was implying here. He was never one for finding her somewhat more cryptic ways of speaking a little harder to wrap his head around. Zaaria glanced up at the sky momentarily and before Kras had managed to figure out what she could have meant, opted to break the momentary silence that had fallen between them.
"I'd say judging by those clouds we could be in for some rain, may be wise to prepare ourselves" she stated factually as she gestured toward the dark clouds up ahead of them, Kras glanced up at the clouds for a moment his train of thought being derailed by her statement.
"I'm sure it won't rain that much, I think we'll be alright if we keep moving" he replied as he glanced back at Zaaria, who simply shrugged at his response.
"Alright, if that's what you think. We better get a move on then" she responded as she encouraged her mare to pick up the pace, Kras watched as she took the lead having not anticipated the sudden speed change, though he quickly encouraged his stallion to catch up to her.

(Later Stage of Final Phase - Time Jump)
The pair rode on and eventually found themselves caught out in the rain Zaaria had anticipated from the darker clouds that lingered in the sky, Kras had opted to take the lead through the biting cold rain, struggling to see where he was going with the bitter chill of the rain stinging his eyes.
"We're lost aren't we?" Zaaria called out from under her hood, as she glanced around trying to see if she could spot the way to go "I knew I should have led the way!" she stated sharply as she glared over at him in annoyance, rain dripping from her hood and the few locks of her hair that had fallen out from under her hood. She couldn't stop the shivering that rippled through her whole being as she tried to draw her cloak closed around her more, not that that offered much warmth being soaked through from the rain.
"We're not lost..." Kras insisted as he tried to shield his eyes from the rain to see if he could figure out where to go from here "we're just taking the scenic route" he added jokingly trying to lighten the mood, as he glanced over as Zaaria it became blatantly clear just how chilled she was, he couldn't help but feel bad for leading them out into this situation in the first place. If he had heeded her warning before perhaps they wouldn't be struggling so much in this weather, he was even more determined now to find the trail again so he could get them both to the finishing point as fast as he could so that they could dry off and thaw out from the harsh conditions.
"This way!" he called out as he started to lead the way forward only to pause when he noticed Zaaria not following, he glanced back with a concerned look on his face, "What's wrong? Come on we need to keep moving!" he insisted a note of desperation in his voice as he too was feeling the cold but was trying to fight through it for the sake of getting themselves out of this in one piece.
"I..I... I c..can't feel my h...hands..." Zaaria stated through her shivering, her gloves being just as drenched as her cloak. Kras headed back to her as he untied the lead rope from around her mares neck and fastening it to his stallions saddle.
"Then just try to stay in the saddle and I'll get us out of here!" he stated as he led the way with Zaaria's mare following closely beside him. After a few moments of searching desperately for the trail again, Kras heard voices off to their left and quickly followed the sound, which thankfully led the pair back to the trail. Having re-joined the trail he set his mind to getting to the finish point as quickly as he could without pushing the horses too hard. Luckily they didn't have too much further to go before they could be rid of this awful cold.
Zaaria, Kras, Harley and Chito all belong to me
