Alien is the sequel, the creature we saw at the end of Prometheus later evolved into the Xenomorphs that people are more familiar with white that squid thing evolved into a facehugger. Prometheus never received good feedback, loads of people ranted and complained about it since the Aliens were created by Predators for combat practice, not what happened in the film.
